33 points from 18 games, average 1.83 which would extrapolate out to 84 points over a season. Nigh on automatic promotion form in its own right. Considering we lost our first 2 away matches as well, that is some achievement. No doubt that figure would be lower were it not for the tremendous backing we enjoy on the road as well. Brilliant by all concerned, not least the fans. As one who doesn't get to as many games as he would like for a variety of reasons, I salute you all!

The away form is on par with the best in both leagues above us....but then again so is the home form.

It is text book promotion form and we simply need to continue to replicate it. Like others say, the others have failed to replicate it of late which is why we now have this cushion in the first place but take nothing away from us. It ain't our fault that they can't keep up with the tempo....

Bit of a start comparison to how we looked back in September though hey? Interestingly though....look at the others around us now! Maybe Fleetwood didn't cone from nowhere after all.. All of our rivals came out of the traps quite quickly....as opposed to us and our little blip (which is now forgiven of course) haha

Maybe Fleetwood didn't cone from nowhere after all..

I don't understand why anyone is saying they did. That piggy twat Staton was getting on my tits on Saturday saying they've "come from nowhere". Rubbish. An 18 (17 at the time) game unbeaten streak, including beating the champions elect on their own turf, is not "coming from nowhere". We even needed a spawny last minute leveller to get a point at their place when their form had taken a slight dip.

They have been very good, very consistently for some time and they deserve to be where they are. Uwe Rösler is doing a brilliant job and I hope they go up with us. In second spot, obviously.

Now we have finished our away matches, seems like a good time to look back at this. Pleasingly, and amazingly, our away form actually improved considerably from 1.83/game to 2/game, widely seen as the benchmark for guaranteed promotion in its own right.

2.17 goals/game scored (much higher than the 1.77 at home) and 1.35 goals/game conceded (vs 0.64 at home). Since the Millwall defeat on August 8th during our poor start, we have lost 1 (one) game away from home. And since then only 1 team (Bristol Rovers) has kept us to nil.

I can't be sure but in what is likely to be a record breaking season on a few fronts, I'd be surprised if there aren't a few 'away from home' records broken as well.

Well played Blades and well done to all that support the team away form home in such staggering numbers.
