The Lino today

Absolute joke of an official , was getting dogs abuse from loads of us behind him , must be a masochist.

The lino v Scunny on the John Street side was the same. Half a fecking sleep.
Where do they find these jokers? Do they get the gig and just think 'ah well, it's only league 1?'

That liner today must have been about 60. Couldn't run properly or keep up with play.

Thought they had to pass fitness tests. Unbelievable he's officiating in professional football.

agreed we were all behind him in the second half and he was struggling, was he a replacement last minute? he would never get away with this in the Championship or Prem or even Firth Park !

It's been down for 40+ years under as an extra backing for carpets we've had. Needs changing now.

There's that expensive Karndean stuff or you could ring the changes and go laminate .

Big decision .

Heard anything about the officials at Rochdale ?

He didn't flag for the back pass leading to our first despite having the best view of it in the ground. Waste of time him carrying a flag.

Agree with the comments from yesterday shocking performance but not much worse than the usual dross we're served up week in week out at this level. We're on John Street just past the half way line and the number of times of late there's been players in offside positions from goal kicks off the floor or from the goalies hands when the ball is kicked but because when the ball lands players are back onside they don't give the decision. The linesmen are shocking and the refs usually not much better but when there's so much money in football I can't see for the life of me why officials aren't at the level of professional standard that the game requires, in any other profession they'd be sacked for incompidence

A bloke a couple of seats down from me took a particular disliking of him, got slaughtered from row B the whole second half.
As did that steward in the first... 'sacked in the morning'

Do you mean directly? As you can't be offside direct from a goal kick.

Agree though, we've had some awful officials.
I know that's the rule but does anyone know why you can't or shouldn't be flagged offside in this instance? It seems a bit daft to me.

James Hanson's shirt was a medium and ended up xxxl but the dopey old git never flagged once
At one point I could've sworn a Rochdale player was trying to tickle his tummy the way he lifted it all the way up.

Didn't know that:rolleyes: I suppose you're going to say you can't be offside from a corner next;) It happens from both actually (I stand corrected on the first) but it has most definitely happened on many occasions out of the goalkeepers hands as there's been quite a few of us noticing it of late

what a joke this guy was, he couldn't even keep up with the play for most of the match, lost count the amount of times they were off side, that bloke should call it at day he was knackered
The Lino on the other side was just the same, Dales first goal looked Off-side, I was directly in line and I called it straight away, unfortunately I'm not the Lino.

Looked two yards offside, wasn't even marginal but the linesman was ten yards behind play and in no position to make the call, fecking rubbish officials.

They should've just handed out 3,500 flags to our fans, atleast one of us would've been up with play, although I'm sure there'd be a few biased calls. :)

On the other hand, I'm amazed they can get refs and linos anyway. Who in their right mind wants to do that?

No idea how to post pics but a Rochdale player is 2 yards offside for one of their goals. I didn't go so can't say which goal but he's well off.

Yep, he was atrocious. Missed some obvious offsides and then when the ball went for a throw right in front of him and he didn’t have a clue which way to give it.

We were sat almost in line with some of the offside calls and they were so clear.

The shirt pulling on Hanson in the first half was unreal. One very clear drag back in the box and several outside. On one occasion, the ref gave them the free kick when their centre half tried to wear Hanson’s shirt.

Maybe we should have shirts held together with Velcro. That way the Striker runs free and if no fruition you point to their player with half a shirt in his hand.
