Not seen this posted elsewhere but he has dislocated his shoulder in training which may put him out for the season.
Pity as we need him as back up but have Wilson and Hussy to step in if required and the young left back in the under 23s who's name escapes me has been getting good reviews.
We have been v lucky with injuries and suspensions let us hope that remains to be the case

Agreed we've been lucky with injuries and suspensions. We never really saw what we were missing with Chapman and Riley, so in all i think it could've been worse

Bit of a shame, as never really got a look in. Especially after the man united fans saying he should've been in their match day squad instead

Man Utd fans know sh*t all about footb...ooh look Pogba's got a new haircut!!

If you listen to Wilder's interview, he's out for this week end but having scans back at Man Utd, and hopefully he'll be back medium term, but can't say much else until the scan results come through. Possibly a bit premature to say 'out for the season'

Still would like to have seen him in for lafferty for a game, as I'm not his biggest fan

Bad news from Wilder is that Joe suffered a "freak injury" in training and has a suspected dislocated shoulder. He has gone back to Manchester United's facilities to undergo a scan. Depending on the outcome of the scan, he could be out for the rest of the season.

Good job Chapman is returning then.

Merge threads please Mods, it will save me explaining Chapman and Riley play in different positions

We'd have no problem with Basham RWB. It's also a good job Chapman's coming back because while they might be different players, they're both wide options who can contribute offensively, and it's vital we have someone like that.

Riley and Chapman both have pace and both can take on opponents, something we're short of. Reilly isn't a static lb or lmf, as he's showed in training he's surely a cut above but needed a little adjustment to the more physical game. An important asset lost for the run in it seems

Has there been a rough timeframe established for when Chapman is to return?

Real pity, was looking forward to seeing this lad develop for us and sounded like a decent prospect. Best wishes Joe, hope you are back with us soon.

Dislocations are a weird one. It isn't so much the damage of dislocating, it's what damage has been done to the area as the joint popped out of place. It's why knees are so bad, it goes back in place fine, but you do the damage to the tendons/ligaments/cartilage as it goes. Seen people in martial arts training over the years get up from dislocations, pop it back in, and carry on as normal, others can never be quite right again.
