I think he means in the context of talented players putting a shift in and making sure their talent has the chance to flourish. If he wanted a bunch of shadow-chasers that's what we'd have. We very obviously are not going down that road, thank Pele.

It's very instructive to note that Old Runaround himself is being moved further and further to the periphery.

I do love how you capitalise your nicknames to cement them as official pronouns! It's very tabloid; the NOTW would be proud.

I think he brought Done on to make better use of attacking down the left, as we kept going down that flank towards the end of the game and poor O'Connell couldn't beat his man. It was a bit late, mind.

We ought to 'thank Pele' for old Billy popping up again - he runs around quite a bit too, now I think of it. As does Fleck. And others...
 
Good point. He saw what was happening and reacted like a good goalscorer should, while our lads stood around watching him do it.

We had enough chances to put a stop to it well before it got to him.

Sadly we have these lapses in concentration in defence when we just need to get rid of it.
 
There was one chance in the 2nd half we had where the ball went low and across the goalmouth. Should've been a simple tap in,but someone fluffed their lines!

Duffy should have scored and I didn't realise how blatant the push on O'Connell was at the end - definite penalty.

The one in the first minute on Lafferty I'm now not sure about. He got hold of Lafferty's shirt just outside the area but tugged it inside the area.

Kin useless refereeing either way.
 
An utterly ridiculous decision on the JOC push. Looked blatant at the time, even more so on the replay.
 
Shocking miss from Billy in the second half. I thought he might have been offside at the time but he wasn't.

I wouldn't mind seeing Carruthers or O'Shea coming in for Duffy next week.

My main criticism of him is that he should have scored far more goals, including one yesterday. In this team, in his position at this stage of the season, 5 isn't enough. So it's tempting to start O'Shea. Number 10 is his natural position too.

Not O'Shea he has fluffed even better chances than that and he has only been here 5 minutes.

Id prefer Carruthers for now.
 
Surprised neither highlights showed the Lavery chance where he did really well to control a deep pass from Coutts (I think) and then force the keeper to push the ball round the post.

Which chances? He missed one at Bristol but the one where he hit the post yesterday was a good effort from a very tight angle.

Maybe the fact that he's only been here 5 minutes has something to do with it or is that how long we're giving players these days?
