By that arrogant, self important, clueless prick with the whistle.

I can't be arsed to reel off every decision he got wrong, but the yellow card to Coutts for not rolling off the pitch was unreal and wad made even more baffling when a Scunny player, in a similar position on the pitch, did the exact same thing without punishment!

There needs to be ramifications for that sort of performance from an official. I know they have a tough, thankless job but if you performed like that at work in any other industry you'd get a severe bollocking at the very least.

Fortunately he didn't completely kill what was an entertaining game of football today, despite his best attempts to.

He had a bad 'un for sure, but he was brilliant compared to the ref at Peterborough last week!

He was a complete joke. Surely the assessor will give him the lowest marks possible for that performance?

Agree with the O/P. Ref was a pernickerty twat who bottled coming down hard on Scunny (almost seeming sorry for them) as they fouled anything that moved.

In a strange way it worked for us though, as there's nowt we like better than to get on a dodgy ref's back.

But there's a strong case to be made that Scunny should have been down to nine, even eight men (Van Veen, Crooks).

To be fair, Coutts was off the pitch and then came back on and went down. I've never seen a player booked for doing it so not sure it was a booking.

If a Scunny player did what Coutts did, we'd have all gone ape shit and rightly so!

4 bookings for us today, same as them. Absolute joke they spent all match kicking us

We've seen opponents do what Coutts did dozens of times without punishment. The ref also engineered a booking for Fleck by giving a shocking decision right in front of him and not liking being told so. Crooks should've had a straight red for his studs up challenge on Basham and only got a talking to. How all three of our midfielders got a card and Crooks none at all I cannot fathom.

I was looking right at Coutts as he was right beneath us - I believe he told the ref to fuck off - probably made up the refs mind.

UTB

Above everything else he got wrong for me was his terrible timekeeping. 1 minute in the first half was unbelievable. Not to mention that he himself was responsible for needlessly wasting a lot of this time.

I genuinely think we would've won the game if that cunt could use his watch.

I hope that fucking arsehole suffers in life. I genuinely do.

If his performance today is anything to go by, he obviously has some wild OCD type condition where everything must be in its absolute exact place.

I hope he goes home tonight to find a knife in the fork section of his cutlery draw and spirals into a Rain Man type meltdown that lasts 3 weeks.

C**t.

The lino on our side was worse, trust me on this.
He missed at least two off sides which were obvious. Billy Sharp was one in the first half and their one in the second, he was a mile off and could so easily have scored.

I can only assume that the Premier League have a no shoulder charge and no tackling policy to protect the gentile foreign lads.

We have had plenty of shitty League 1/2 refs and generally their problem is incompetence. This dickhead saw everything and had to make 'a judgement' every time.

If Rooney had been on the line and rolled on the pitch at OT there is not a snowball in Hell's chance he would have been booked.

Billy Big Bollocks giving it large to the lower league schmucks, well done big man!

Also Madden kicking Wright after the ball had gone out, not 10 yards away from him. Should have been a yellow.

Van Veen should have been sent of first half for that Challenge on Wright

The one on Bash was worse it was a stamp.

Didn't Basham get sent off there? A bit of history between them?

Must be hard for league 1 refs to suddenly be in front of a much larger than average league one crowd though.......

I've always thought that a few dodgy ref decisions helps the crowd get going at the lane mind, watching all the arms "going" on the south stand berating the lino, 4th official and the ref, from my spot on the kop always amuses me. Helps get that bear pit atmosphere that the lane is best in the world at.

Agree, ref could've done better today.

I didn't clearly see what happened but I saw Wright remonstrating with the officials after and said that is out of character for him. He doesn't regularly gob off in that arsehole type way (unlike their no.8).

get Clattenburg inform next weeks el Classico before he pisses off to Saudi, dire reffing performance today, , Lino,s not much better.Great Blades performance today,

Couldn't agree more, that was a wanker's trick and he deserved the booking.

Shit league shit refs. You could just see he needed a breather when he was giving the players a talking to.

Both the referee and linesman were in my field of vision as it happened and both were looking straight at it. Ref bottled it (again) and the linesman refused to break his habit of stealing a wage and not involving himself in anything.

I could spend the next week listing his other weaknesses.
