That crucial moment

The man gave us a sighting of what God would look like in human form, wearing a Sheffield United shirt, his warm-up routine and performance at Huddersfield Town one Saturday afternoon was a sight to behold. He couldn't run, but he seemed to be the fastest player on the pitch. In his prime, not under the influence, what a player.

We and many others were fortunate to witness such a footballer wearing our red and white.

That pretty much sums up how i rated him... except i didn't see him at Huddersfield Town

I don't attach a great deal of attention to stats (seems unfair when a player does not get an assist when some plonker misses an open goal), but Wright's unbeaten run is beginning to look significant, and is making people look at what he does on the pitch. Are there any other United players in the modern era who could have had a similar unbeaten sequence.? A hard fact to check up on, but any candidates?

I suppose what Wright lacks in his position is a bit of stature/bulk/dominance. And tbh he hasn't got the extra pace of a Jags/Killa in their prime. Which, I suppose, is why the 3-at-the-back with him in the pivotal central, organising role seems to suit him so well.

As said, his reading of the game, his judgment and his awareness are top drawer. Hell of a clever footballer - & genuinely really enjoyable to watch. Against all expectation, & amidst all the much higher profile signings, Wilder brought a real gem in to the club. And he's playing him in what seems to be the ideal system/position for him.

In the first half Lafferty lost the ball outside the box after he had miscontrolled a half clearance, Posh then broke away quickly and then there were two Peterborough attackers against just Jake Wright at the other half. Wright then anticipated that the attacker with the ball would attempt to pass to his team mate to put him through and he blocked the pass in a timely manner. Genius!
I just watched this back and his positioning was fantastic. Having said that the posh players will be kicking themselves. A better team would have punished us
