Sorry Larky but so he should be. If he's not going to commit to us then we shouldn't be wasting resources on him. It's a privilege to play for us and we've developed him well after being rejected. He should think very carefully about arguing over a couple of hundred quid now, when the rewards could be so much greater in the future.
He should know that if he signs and a big club comes in with a decent offer, we won't hold him back.
This is also my point though Bush....... It shows that some young players forget where they were after rejection only 2 seasons ago.

It also shows that todays players have no loyalty what so ever, its generally about the money. Sad but true.

and anyones elses figures
the 20 adkins supposedly tried moving on

theyre exact are they , certifiably correct
all first team regulars

just asking

You asked me about what you had posted, no one else. I answered.

To be honest Grizzly i think these structures can be changed very easily dependent on how the club is doing. I would think the structure at SUFC could change if we become a championship club.
My point was purely regarding how easy it is for wealthier clubs to come in and snatch our younger prospects.

in fairness , we arent the only club that produces young talent only to see it poached

thats the problem
arent there 2 sides to every argument
your preposition is Im spouting bollocks
basing it on the other side of the debate is offering 100 per cent truths

is that the case is all Im asking
I can surely only be spouting bollocks as you put it if the caes offered is 100 per cent kosher
your then saying thats the case

thats how debates work isnt it

one argument v another

or is it just for you to call, when was that vote

With the young 'uns, greedy agents and / or pushy parents a factor too?

Usually, but not always.

btl, I think you'd get a lot better reaction from people (well, you'd certainly get a better one from me) if you actually fact checked your posts a bit. You are notorious for mis-stating all sorts of things in support of an argument. You make some good points but when the facts you assert along with your opinions are wrong, people take you less seriously.

Players have been moving for more money since the maximum wage was abolished. In fact, some went abroad before that for the same reason. Freedom of contract just makes it easier. I don't blame them.

and a lot of those facts I get off the internet

and Ill hold my hands up
what really annoying is the pedantic posts where I make no effort to be serious , as saying pele was 60 which we all know is not the case just irony you dont have to look on wiki to check that but am picked up on it
why

total arseholery

So I can't add 3 inches to my Gentlemans bits then? The fucking bastards.

I am not sure Crab..... By all accounts Ramsdale now earns a good few thousand pounds minimum a week and i would guess that figure rises over his 4 year contract. He was on £500? a week tops with us.
Any agent or parent in their right mind would tell their lad to move. Also bare in mind his loyalty to the club was 2 seasons. Our loyalty goes back 20,30,40,50,60 years.

Now where i see a potential difference is the players who have been with us since 7 years old. Slater, Gilmoor, Semple, Cummings, Greaves, Hallam. Now they have been with us since 7 years old and have been with the club mostly in league one. I think these lads would show the loyalty as they have been brought up as Blades.
For them playing in the red and white is their dream. They get what we get out of 3 points for a win, promotion, relagation etc etc.

I certainly don't blame any player for making himself better off by moving. If i was in any job and was offered the chance to multiply my wage, i and everyone else would be off too.............

Way I feel at the moment I'd fuck mine off for a paper round ;)

This applied to Lee Morris, who I saw first play for Junior Blades when he was 8, and also to Maguire and Walker and Naughton. Money talks, sadly.

There can be exceptions I suppose (eg Dane Whitehouse). But we are vulnerable as long as we are in this League.

My moment has come.

Lee Morris trialled for Junior Blades under 10s, the youngest JB age cohort at the time, but did not play for them at that age.

I know because I trialled for Junior Blades on the same day as him and he didn't make the cut. Hilariously, I was picked ahead of him and played in his position on the left wing for that under 10 Junior Blades cohort. Which was Ben Doane's team, actually.

I was always a bit surprised that Doane made it because I counted him about the third or fourth best player in our team. But then again, we were only 10 years old. Kudos to him for getting through.

Anyway, I digress. Morris was picked up later along the juniors/youth team line. No less a blade, and so on.

of course its retiring

its like saying a 68 year old packing bags at Asda hasnt retired, hes still getting paid

collins going to play for the rowdies is akin to a university lecturer in quantum physics going for a job teaching the 2 times table at a primary school
yes hes getting paid but not as much as before and not quite the same level

Only if the 68 year old has been a bag packer all his life. Ergo he’s still doing the same job on a full time basis.

Neil Collins is still a professional footballer. Michael Higdon is now a semi-professional footballer and when he left us on loan to Oldham and then to Tranmere he was a professional footballer. A 32 year old one at that.

Saying things over and over doesn’t make it so. It just reinforces my earlier view that you don’t understand what ‘retired’ means.

try letting 10 per cent of people have their own opinion instead of thrusting yours on them ,
now that would be progress

This post is hilarious. You come on here telling others what to think about the club, McCabe etc. more than anyone! The only thing that myself, Sean Thornton, @Bush Blade etc. pull you up on is the dishonesty (or factual inaccuracy if we’re giving you the benefit of the doubt). In this thread alone we’ve had

10 players Blackwell got rid of before the start of the 08/09 season (he hadn’t got rid of any of them prior to the start of the 08/09 season)

Moving to a professional football club who play at a lower level than your previous one is retiring (I guess McCall, Speed, Saunders, McGrath, Ehiogu, Unsworth etc. all retired by signing for us).

Many of the list of players I listed moved out by Adkins were released before Adkins was even appointed (none of them were).

Michael Higdon was 34 when he left us for Bangor City (He was 32 when he left us for Tranmere Rovers).

Pele was in his 60s when he played for LA Cosmos.

Kyle McFadzean is Callum McFadzean (we’ll let you off with mistaking Ioan for Ched whilst we’re on that one).

That’s just off the top of my head without combing back through the entire thread. Very clear incorrect or dishonest (depending on how you choose to interpret) statements which are very easily verifiable. Why pretend Higdon was 34? Why pretend that Blackwell had got rid of those players before the start of the season (everyone knows Beattie was a mid-season sale and that Dyer, Stokes, Spring were loan players)? Why pretend that many of the players on my list had been released before Adkins arrived?

It’s all stuff that is extremely easy to look up but you just choose to make up absolute bullshit time and time again. And then you get the titty lip on when others ridicule you for it.

Wow, the legibility here is amazing!

The difference is, I'm posting stuff that can be subjectively argued against (all about opinions). Yet your posts are absolutely littered with factual inaccuracy to the point where it's impossible to believe that you're not just lying to try to support your point. You tell people they've said stuff they haven't, you make up random stuff like the age of players (which isn't based on the internet lying to you. It's based on you making up shit).

retired from playing in the english 92 club league
ie , cant find a proper job

hes a thirty something who cant cut it in the league now his yard of pace has gone
not such a problem in non league

a non league club is a non league club
mccall speed etc moved to another football league club in us ,

you write post after post talking absolute tosh and accuse me of having exclusivity on it
yet yours are equally inaccurate and misguided

again like yours is totally accurate , you cant keep posting the inaccuracies you do then call for it

do I get things wrong , yes

never get you saying that

"inaccurate and misguided"

Youdo realise you've said that about your own posts as well as suggesting others are?

1DW, Someone who relies on those bloody fact things !

Truth will out in the end.

:)

No wonder he needs Viagra then.

I challenge you to show me anything that I've posted that is factually inaccurate. I've provided you with plenty examples of you doing it.

Again, point me to a factual inaccuracy on my part. If you can, I'm sure I'll hold my hands up.

yes whereas the whole argument is based on him saying Adkins tried to move out 20 players

dont think that has a great deal of strength in it
He did move out 20 Players.

Then he shifted out twenty Bensons and forty Silk Cut.
