:D.....seen it all now.

Mr Angry....wound up over an extra "e"....playing the victim!

Couldn't make it up.:)

Only one angry person here and that's you.
Victim? no,just not calling you names . I'm leaving the insults to you.
Film star friend? Nah. Just a mate off Ballifield estate I spent happy hours drinking and watching the Blades with.
You ain't getting a bite, but you can have the last word,I'm done wasting time on you I'll never get back.

My favourite shout from today's crowd.

"Stop fucking fannying abart with it Coutts".
:)
Towards back of SS. You know who you are !

I reckon promotion would be guaranteed if we'd brought back Matt Kilgannon in the transfer window.

He was close to his brilliant best today. The Three Amigos responded perfectly to the arrival of Sam and Jayo. Those two are proper footballers as well.

By Pele, my cup runneth over.

Tufty be praised...

❤⚔
There you go pinchy, back to parity at a symmetrical 9203. Our midfield options look better than for a long long time.

Samir definitely fits in the pattern.

Fuck it. Reight win. I've just partied like it's 1999. (Which is when I was young enough to party). Blades are going up.

Absolute class today up and down that pitch for 90 minutes never gave a ball away twice player Duffy is
Just watched the goals again and the players involved in those 4 goals are as follows

Fleck, Sharp,
Fleck, Duffy, Freeman, Hanson,
Hanson, Fleck,
Carruthers and Lavery.

I'm not knocking Coutts as his control of the ball is a significant factor in us dominating possession game after game and that is clearly part of the platform that allows our goal threatening players to shine. Coutts just isn't one of our goal threatening players most days.

But, how far back do you go?

Did their player have it right before those players named got involved to create the goal? Or did we have possession significantly longer?

If the latter, then it could be said all of those players were involved in the goal.

I was schooled in that neck of the woods. Explains a lot doesn't it? :D

I thought Coutts was poor and lazy for the first hour yesterday. Wasn't looking for one twos and when a ball went out of play and a quick throw was on he didn't bother. Mostly dropped back in to play sideways and I wanted to kill him. Wilder had a chat around the 60 minute mark, Coutts pushed 10 yards further up and pressed high. He was fucking superb after that and everywhere.

Fleck on the other hand hasn't got a thread yet was mom by a country mile yesterday.

I'm a Couttesy fan but I've given Duff a higher mark and Fleck the same in the ratings thing. The three are a delight to watch when on their games, which is most of the time.

If by poor and lazy, you mean he had more of the ball than ANY other player on the pitch, and additionally, that he never lost possession of said football even once, then I see where your coming from ;)

And yes Fleck was MOM for most of us I would assume.

UTB

Ps you the guy I mentioned in #63 ??

He had more ball and kept more possession because he was coming back taking it and moving it to the next cb and repeat. He wasn't pushing the ball around and looking for one twos further forward which has been the main change in Coutts this season.

He wasn't at the races for me and there is no comparison in performance between first 60 minutes and last 30 where as I said was superb

Who gives a shit if he misspelt a name? Fucking hell, this is probably why the forum has such a poor active members/active posters ratio. Everyone is shit scared of getting the piss ripped out of them for making posting errors.

Normally at this point I would blame bladesmad

Do you believe that, in the main, this is his role though ?

Difficult to be critical of a guy who is executing pretty much exactly what his manager is instructing him to do !!

No he isn't much of a goal threat.

No he doesn't win crunching tackles,

No, he doesn't win lots of headers.

But the guys got a Sat Nav for a right foot, a first touch sent from heaven and reads the game as well as anyone in this division (and the one above from what I've seen) and consistently, IMHO, makes good decisions when decisions are required.

If a forward ball is not on, the ONLY viable option is to recycle it.

Really? Coutts was superb throughout. Fleck hardly had a touch for the first half hour. People were remarking about it when he did (a tackle putting the ball safely out of play at the Kop end).

Personally I enjoy tremendously all three of our proper midfielders and don't get the need to deride any of them just to emphasise another.

The reason, by the way, that proper footballers pass sideways is that they play with their heads up. If they see nobody ahead of them making a run into space, they prefer to keep possession until someone does. The preferred S2 alternative of lumping it into the arms of the opposition keeper or a slice into touch (known colloquially as a 'Montgomery') doesn't appeal.

This ^^^^^^

Minus the Montgomery jibe ;)

Well sorry not knocking anybody just comparing players not one of your team so get shot down in flames you lot carry on with each other will just watch from sidelines in future
Keep posting melreesrip, it's all light hearted, and it will get worse before it gets better, (eventually).
Before you know it you'll be taking the piss with the rest of us.

But there were better options which lead to Duffy getting more involved then Carruthers. Think we are missing the bit where I said he was fantastic in the last 30 minutes but off the pace for the first 60. Is this really bashing one of our players?
