where will we be?
Here's my take on it...
We will be in the Championship trying to get back into the Prem.
We were promoted from league 1 in 2017 and achieved back to back promotions in 2018 taking us back to the Prem before Wednesday (it was a Tuesday in fact).
Before the new Prem season started in August 2018 McCabe sold us out to a Chinese consortium. They predged game changing money!
The 2018/19 season we started brightly and all the fans wore red n white lampshade hats in favour of our new owners. Ultimately we did well finishing 10th and more investment was promised.
In 2019/20 season we got off to a poor start losing 4 out of the 5 first games and were bottom of the table. The Chinese owners sacked Wilder and appointed someone we'd never heard of from Outer Mongolia. It didn't help. We were relegated back to the Championship at the end of that season. Fans burned their lampshade hats in the car park and removed their shoes - taking care not to point their feet towards the owners because it's rude in Chinese culture.
The next three seasons we struggled to make any impact at the top of the table and Blades fans started attacking anyone in the street who looked vaguely Chinese.
Eventually the Chinese owners quit and the club was in the hands of a new investor. A Malaysian chappie.
The lampshade hats came out once more and Wilder was reinstated. His task now : to get us back to the Prem at first attempt.
He failed and was sacked again.
Meanwhile Mr McCabe unwrapped another Werthers original and sucked on it pensively - wondering what might have been - as he threw another wad of £50 notes on the fire to keep warm.
