What the first goal doesn't show is Basham's second ridiculous pass in a row that led to the goal. His first 30 minutes summed up United tonight. Totally half arsed.

Moore had a good game and kept us in it at 0-1.

Agreed on Basham. He is a poor footballer. He made 3 mistakes even before they scored the first.

I think you're being unfair on their first. That was an actual pass. A great one at that. However, no one was closing him down, no one was tracking the run and Moore was in a dreadful position and should never be beaten so easily at his near post.
The second is all EEL.

not to excuse the garbage performance but the first was somewhat unfortunate, their guy looks like he's going to smack the ball into the BLUT but mishits it and it falls perfectly to their onrushing player at the back stick (fair play if it was intended as a pass tho, thats one of the best i've ever seen!). second was total insanity.
Moore could maybe have done slightly better on the first but he also made some very good saves to us keep in it so swings and roundabouts I guess, not sure what the thought process could possibly be for apportioning any blame to him for the second.

The first was a misfit shot that fell kindly straight to their player, Moore went down like a Giant Redwood and by the time he actually hit the floor the ball was nestled in the net. Should have reacted quicker in my opinion, but was totally blameless for the second and made a good save earlier on with his feet.
Lafferty headed a great chance over in the second half when he should have done better, plus Sharps chance that he somehow sliced for a throw in, (to us
) were both decent chances.
But time and time again we waste possession in good areas, Duffy must have clipped balls into their keepers arms at least three times, crosses go into the box when no ones there and then Sharps heading it goal wards from the edge of the 18 yard box for the keeper to throw his cap on?
I think we're becoming very predictable, always, always looking to just get the wing backs wide and get crosses in. I just wish now and again we would run at the defence or pass to a strikers feet in a central position. 2nd half, O'Connel ran at their defence, who parted like the Red Sea and he was almost on the edge of the box with a clear sight of goal, so then turned and passed it back to Scougall?
Very poor team performance tonight, only possibly Lavery came out of it with any credit. The new signings may just have come in time, I hope

It was wing back v wing back with him and McLaughlin and he didn't cover his run.
In fact them having better wing backs than us was probably quite a big factor tonight.

First goal was a comedy of errors, a miss hit shot that fell to there attacking right back, but where was lafferty, or any cover on that side, then I thought Moore was very slow to react, very much like the first at Walsall. Moore then did keep us in it, with a good save in the first half. Second was another comedy of errors all down to EEL, hero to zero in two weeks......
Serious questions to about our midfield , always been a fan off coutts but last few weeks, he has not looked interested, Fleck is playing very deep, and Duffy is either excellent or diabolical. We need someone who can pick the ball up and run at there defenders, hopefully Carathuers or O'shay or Riley can do this. Last night also was made for Hanson, pity he wasn't signed in time.
