The next three fixtures are all home games which we can win. Imagine the table with three straight wins!

Our manager said recently that the games against Scunny, Bolton etc. are not the vital ones, this run of games is vital for promotion.

We fans need to play our part. I sit in central South stand where it is very difficult to express any emotion, rather the 'mumble against' is the general persona in our rarified atmosphere. Central South Stand is mostly aged, we've had our tickets since the stand opened. In some ways that insulates the Board from the real feelings of the supporters. All they hear is a distant hub hub from the Kop which I might say is just not audible enough. Poor in fact for a club that intends to go places. Hey fellow fans, Over these next 3 games let's show the club that we fans intend us "to go places".

This is the 3 match time when our club can make a statement. Put your two'penneth in lads and lasses. I'll do it in the central area of the South Stand. I'll stand up, do it and feel absolutely isolated.

Examine that. For a club who believes, that's what it does. Do we believe in Chris Wilder.

LET'S SHOW CHRIS WILDER WE ARE WITH HIM: 3 GAMES: WIN LOSE OR DRAW LET'S DRAW OUR LINE IN THE SAND FOR CHRIS WILDER.

Whatever the state of the game, let's back the players, give unqualified support. Wednesday did just that in the 60's, not these days, it is possible. We care, let's do it.

I also sit it in the centre section of the South Stand and within earshot of the directors box, and in the recent past i have felt the need to let the occupants of the directors box know what the feelings are with distinctive South Yorkshire parlance that occasionally verges on the profane with far too much alacrity.

This season i have been swayed by the Wilder revolution at the Lane, and i feel at one with the club, and also with my fellow supporters who in the all too near past i have incorrectly assumed might clap like a sycophantic pod of subservient seals, but now i realise they was all kind, gentle souls wishing the best for the club.

Therefore on saturday i have decided that i will stand strong with you, stand tall with you and back you all the way,

As fans we are together

I am Woodward Fan.....

Hip hip horah

Wilders exact words when told about the tough fixtures in February were
"Those fixtures will take care of themselves but it's the results agaisnt team near the bottom that are just as important"

He does make a good point.
Everyone seems to be saying the home fixtures agaisnt Bolton, Scunthorpe and Bradford are key games
But we might be so far ahead that even defeats in those 3 games still means we top the league.

I remember Wilder pre match against away at Shrewsbury saying how tough the match could be becuase they are fighting for their lives and we need to at least match them in effort and desire, so preparation is key.
He also mentioned how the wins against so called "easy teams" earn the same 3 points as beating tough oppostion.

I think that been the secret of Wilders success so far.
When we play weak oppostion it's not a given than we will automatically win
And if we approach it wrong expecting victory then we will lose
We have to expect a tough game, remain focussed and give max effort, only then, we should win.

Well said.

Can I turn that round and ask you what I'm saying. I said what I said and thought it was clear and obvious. What do you think? Others are debating it so how do you interpret it. Let;s face it, it's not too complicted.

Come on LS26, cough it up, how do you interpret the simple post?

What are you saying?

I'm with you there Woodward, but then I stand at the back of the Kop and give my absolute all vocally every game to the point where I spend most Sunday's struggling to speak. I can't understand why we all don't have this problem?

Sing up

So what exactly are you saying?

numerous posters 'like' what I said. Why do you ask?

Let me help you.

We have all been to away grounds where their support rings around the ground from every angle.

That's what I mean. Do you know what I mean?

Nothing will change on Saturday in the crowd, it will be silent as usual with some occasional noise from the Kop. The people where you sit or me not far behind will sit silent as usual.

If anyone like me dares to stand and chant it will be met with a cringeworthy reaction by the rest.

There is no atmosphere it's rubbish and you writing Churchillian style speeches on message boards won't change this.

You asked what I was saying and that was exactly it, well said. Let's change the 'culture', the s2'isn'ness, let's go 'Chrissy Wilder', let's 'do a Leicester'., give us 'clappers', give us alcohol, do whatever, let's make Bramall Lane the difference and play a part.

LS26 -agree?

Well said.

And what I am saying is that we fans can make a difference.

Fans , Directors , Chairman , Manager , Players , Back Room Staff all make the difference when pulling in the right direction and of course winning football matches . My own view for what it's worth is that we will come unstuck with the next run of home matches . Not saying the bubble has burst, but it will test everyone's metal .

The so called mediocre teams are the hardest to play against , as you just don't know what you are going to get .

Win the home matches and we will be home and dry . Talk is easy , let's have no more , we didn't see that one coming . Domination is great , we still need a out and out goal scorer to assist Billy . Mr McCabe , cheque book time please so we show our intent to the rest .

Time for the fans to turn up, not just in numbers but whole-hearterdly in voice.

I go to Bramall Lane in the South Stand and feel inhibited by all around me. Give us 'clappers'. I'm sure the old geezers like me will clap away and then it takes off from there. Once one old fella has broken out we all will.

BTW, I'm not that old yet but I do feel inhibited. Do you? :confused:o_O

theres plenty on the kop like that just sit there doin nowt not even a clap when owt promising happens i do think a lot of our support are so dissalusioned by wots happened at the lane the last 6 years the enthusiasm has been knocked out of em

water is very thirst quenching, but don't drink too much

I do feel inhibited but like the rest of us , have had the stuffing knocked out of me with Wembley visits , losing out in play offs , under performing players and teams .

All a bit shell shocked and battle weary . The bottom line Sheffield United do not deserve the loyalty and level of support they have had over the years . Forget Newcastle , Man City for level of under divided love , support and blinded loyalty , no fan base matches ours and the board need a wake up call on this one . Talk about taking us for granted in previous years .

Hard to be vocal after years of football abuse . Wilder is turning us around but physiologically the fans are still bruised badly . Hats off to the lads and lasses on the Kop . South stand has a conservative ageing band of fans .

Good posting Woody but fans are tired and cynical , so it's difficult to find a collective voice IMO.

South Stand start singing.

NHS in Sheffield go into meltdown.

They 'sing when they are winning', believe me. Moaners otherwise. Completely counter-productive, but that's S2 -isn't it?

Don't gamble, don't commit, even when you are there at the ground. It's only the Pigs who sing come what may.

My Dad told me that 50 years ago. He said we were sophisticated supporters, over in S6 they cheered them when they crossed the half way line. Sorry Dad, so what?

There's only one problem with being shit for 50 years

The fans are either thoroughly pissed off because we continue to be shit
Or they are suspicious and remain negative when anything goes well for a short period of time, expecting it all to come crashing down around them very soon.
It's human nature after a lifetime of underperformance

That hammering at Walsall to many of our fans represents the beginning of the end, the bubble bursting, the wheels well and truly falling off.
The only people that can re-establish the bit of faith that was slowly starting to build up again is Wilder and the players.

But if they are relying on deafening support in their efforts to despatch Gillingham they will be disappointed because it understandably won't happen
