Wilder to Forest

i'm optimistic he has a structured contract with bonuses and pay rises factored in for success. His CV will also improve with another promotion on it. He's also a Blade which should help put him out of reach of all but the established PL clubs. A good thing for us is it'll put pressure on the board to back him.

I'm with Treeton on this, Rowett will get the Forest job. Although CW has us up there at the moment and got Northampton promoted, to date he hasn't managed at Championship level whereas Rowett has and Forest will want someone who has managed at that level. And let's be fair, before his inexplicable sacking by Birmingham he had them in a decent position. Undoubtedly with CW being a Blade it would make it harder for him to leave, but not impossible. He did say when he joined the Blades the the job was 'the only one I would have left Northampton for' if I remember correctly so fingers crossed we should be ok.

Wilder would consider leaving if the boards ambition did not match his.
Not likely for this or next season, or whilst ever we as a club are ambitious, but needs to be raked into account in any ongoing ambitions that our club has.
Once in the championship, money will be available as the paperchase will start to roll

Wilder and Knill won't leave us until they've matched or exceeded Clough and Taylor's achievements at Forest. ;)

But with all this speculation about Wilder and him being a Blade, I also hope that Knill isn't tempted to try the hot seat again, because I suspect that he's just as important to the cause.

Short termism again. If a team like forest offers Wilder more money that might seem an attractive proposition but will it look as good when they've been relegated because the team is full of overpaid dross and Wilder gets binned off after 6 months - we are a big enough club to be able to show more ambition than to let a promising manager leave at the first time a club starts sniffing around. Mind you the same should go for our young players but we know what happens to them every season...

Forest are screwed now the takeovers collapsed.. Fawaz has turned them into a shambles behind the scenes, no admin to help with the day to day running of the club properly has made them rotten to the core.

Trading places with the Blades.

Fawaz is quite likeable from a (significant) distance. He's put a lot of money in but is clearly utterly clueless. He's even apologised for ballsing things up, which is something you rarely hear. I suspect they'll find another monied bozo to repeat the trick because their history in the Clough years is quite a thing to be associated with.

Maybe, probably... its been like wash, rinse, repeat ever since those 'glory' years.

Perhaps dropping back into league 1 will help them wipe the slate clean and start things from afresh again, the academy has a decent crop of players coming through.

Alan Biggs used to be pretty good ,hes now turned into a boring prick with nothing to say.

I'm getting the impression you no like Biggsy Boy?

I think he's always been a fairly moderate and reasonable journalist and the stuff he writes is usually well thought through. Unlike the shite that Shields writes in the Star! Now there is someone that fits the description you've given Biggsy.

I think Biggsy is the best local journalist by a mile - but I also think you're right that he's not been writing very interesting stuff of late, but you know why that is don't you? Because we're doing well and it's much harder to find a story about anything when the team is doing well. Journalists love it when things are going bad because it gives them more stuff to go and pick over the bones of.

We are going through a boringly wonderful period at the moment.

I really can't see it. He's on the cusp of achieving something great with the club he supports, whereby we could in fact very well swap places with Forest.

At the risk of talking piggish, in the modern game I see ourselves as a better prospect currently and slightly bigger club than Forest.

Paper chase? Is that the Princes toilet rolls rolling down Hagg Hill?

You could spout this shite about anyone who is doing well, more chance of morgs wearing his mums nickers than that.

No chance whatsoever of him being anything other than a useless coach, however. "Nowt fancy..."
