There was a point in Summer 2014, when it seemed that things were inextricably coming together for Robinson to get the Lane job. Right at the point that it should have happened - and I won't deny that I was one of the many Blades who wanted him at that point - however, it cooled because McCabe wouldn't pay the compensation to release him and neither would Robinson resign to enable it to happen. At that point, Robinson's stock was high and he had said nothing but good things about United. It seemed a perfect fit.
You mean summer 2013?
Likewise. I am crap in remembering matches and scorers from the recent seasonsIndeed I do.
As the years pass, I do find that recent years and events seem to merge into an indistinguishable mass of nothingness. Contrast the dates of yesteryear that are seared into the memory : 1971, 1982, 1984, 1990...
Hopefully, 2017 will become a year for instant recall in the future.
Cant see what tge problem with robinson is , hes never been anything but complimentary about us
Even winding up tge pigs on occasion
He was a twat regards McFadz, selling him to Burton for apparently less than we offered
Isn't Karma wonderful? What goes around, comes a fkin round![]()
As a fellow 53 year old, I can confirm that this is called 'getting older'!Indeed I do.

What a load of bull!
So the jist of what he says is (and I'll use fictional figures to highlight it); Charlton offered 400k and we offered 300k but MKD like us better so they took a financial hit?
Utter, utter, utter, shit.
He always strikes me as a football version of James Corden.......
A twat you mean?
Yes....a not funny, over-rated fat prick.
I suspect I'm not the only one to thank him for not selling us McFadz. He's nothing special. We've done better and will do so again in August.
Is he any good at that level? He seems to have spent most of his time in the Championship in the bottom five and I haven't heard of any other Championship clubs that are interested in him.You say better but I wouldn’t bet against McFadz being at the lane next season if we swap places with Burton or they want Brayford on a permanent deal assuming EEL stays at Wolves following his long term contract.

Wilder wanted to sign him to get us out of L1 though. Will he be as keen if we're in the Championship? He seems to be a top league 1/ lower championship centre half (as many describe EEL). He's a big strong header of the ball and is experienced and Wilder tried to sign him last summer so I think it's entirely possible that if the right deal is on the table, he could be seen as a worthwhile signing possibly to play alongside JOC if we go to a back 4. Don't think he'd be a world beater at that level mind. I suppose it all comes down to our ambitions if and when we get up and how much money we're prepared to throw at it.

OK, I'll say it before someone else does:I guess we'll see. Like I say, it probably depends on the level of investment as to what sort of market we're shopping in.

Maybe, and if that's Tufty's choice, fine by me. Personally I think there are better alternatives, Lord Byron for one.
Quite possibly. I think from the little I've seen of Webster and McFadzean there's not a huge amount between them. Ideally, we could sign someone better than both in the championship but we as fans often get carried away with the calibre of player we might sign only to find that we're looking at more affordable options so I suspect those 2 could still be on Wilder's radar in the summer.
You're not being a tiny bit Bladey about McFadz, are you?...![]()
