I think Lavery's earned a start. Plus Oldham are quite a defensive side, the Northampton game will suit Done more.

I'd stick with Done, I don't think Lavery's done enough to warrant a start (yet). I'd give him a good chance to impress (30 mins) regardless of how the game's going though. I think he's only impressed in two cameos, Done has enough credit in the bank to have a couple of poor games before he's out for me. To be honest I can't think of anyone who should be one game from being benched, maybe Lafferty?

I would give Lavery a chance and Done not scoring recently

What about swapping lafferty for done ? And dropping lafferty to the bench (not been in best form) ... done use to play there, plenty of pace, more of an attacking threat also. And then put lavery up top ?

I agree i'd like to see Lavery start. Thought he showed some real quality last time out, looked a lot sharper and was unlucky not to score. The time is right what with Done's finishing being appalling of late i think he deserves his chance. We can always bring Done off the bench later on to cause some havoc if need be.

Everyone should be well-rested – assuming no knocks have been picked up in training, the same team should start.

1-0 to the Blades. Lavery free kick.
They gotta park the bus surely so no point lobbing attack after attack at them, if that will even be possible when 70% of the play will be in their half. Static load of bollocks.
Set play and guile will win this one.

Trust your uncle. :)

One of those games that could go either way. We may struggle to break them down as has been the case a few times of late. An early goal for us would really open the game up and subsequently we could get a hatful. Done often wears down the opposition for fresher players like Lavery to take advantage but Ricky has a point that Matty might be less effective if Oldham sit really deep. Will trust Wilder on this one

I think our set plays will be really important iin this one. Oldham appear to set up very defensively in most away games so we will have to take advantage of the 25 corners we will get.
As for the line up, keep it as, we are good enough.

The Runarounders always turn out in force for their boy don't they? You have to admire their loyalty and tenacity, though. Ineffective shadow-chasing is always the thing for the most unsophisticated supporters in the land.

Go on, Matty. Good boy...

As the game goes on I would like to introduce players who can add that bit of something different, somebody to have a go, take a risk, Chapman was that sort of player, so is this the chance for young brookes? I am told he is a similar player, and Lavery? Both these coming on with 20 odd minutes left against a team that is tiring, of course if we are six up at this point Wilder may choose to ignore this idea.

I'd like to see Lavery start before the JTW and I think he's done enough in his last outings to warrant a go. Seems like the Oldham fans expect them to sit deep and defend so I think it's a good opportunity to give someone with a bit of skill on the ball a shot at getting past them.

If they come to sit deep and defend then we will get chances. Problem may be that those chances will likely fall into a packed box, and our lack of height up there and threat from open play crosses could be an issue.

For me, Lavery doesn't do the job of chasing down defenders as well as Done. He isn't any better in the air either.
Defence picks itself, Lafferty especially is the best we have out there, and despite the stick he gets has done well. Ok he needs to improve his crossing, but so does Freeman.

I would keep the same side, Done in the side pushes them back deeper and gives our midfield more time on the ball to camp in their half. Clarke to come on after 60 minutes to give the attack a different focus. Wright has been a good talker and organiser and would come in for Bash if anyone. But having Bash on the pitch gives us greater flexibility to change things without making a sub.

So has to be same side starting......Wilder may prove me wrong though.

Prediction.....2-0....Done to get one and Fleck the other. His bad run has to end sometime.

I didn't realise fleck was on a bad run ;-)

I agree he wasn't the best last season there, and on the other hand he was scoring goals last season .... but with the current attitude, momentum and midfield I feel he could do a better job than lafferty and provide a more of an attacking threat.
