So we're narrowing it down to "within the sound of the Town Hall clock" then, Bert;)

That would rule Bert out then, couldn't hear it from The Hallamshire Maternity Home, Chapeltown.

It's a weird thought but Kyle Walker has to be one of the best ever Sheffield-born players - how many others can say they were England regulars and playing for a top 4 Prem team week in week out? He will end up with 50+ England caps at least.

fred furniss pure legend, 433 appearances ,only played for us.

The best Sheffield born player has a World Cup winners medal.....

Assume Banks doesn't count as he didn't play for us, otherwise Wednesday players would also qualify.

Curve ball - what about Derek Dooley?

I've heard you mention that before, so where abouts in Chapeltown was the maternity home?

Steven Cresent, off Bevan Way.

Slightly different, but no doubt done many times before my birth on here, to the Foreign Blades thread.
Can we put together a Sheffield United XI [inc subs if possible] of players/former players who were born within this great city of ours?

Manna from Heaven for some of you knowledgeable thread-warmers.
Lisbon Lions , oops sorry wrong team ;)
