Some interesting observations there. Whatever path Evans chose at the outset, it's clear he convinced those closest to him that he hadn't committed the crime he was accused of. Regarding whether we sign him or not, it's Chris Wilder's decision, and if he gave a thumb's up then so be it. You don't need to like a player to support them if they wear the red and white stripes. As per signing him, my concern is two-fold (a) would we see anything close to the Evans of old, and (b) would he be able to play alongside Sharp. There's no way that can be answered other than to put them in the same team. Billy's importance top the team is currently something we're dependent on, and at times he looks a cut above compared to most in this division

At the moment there's no indication that Wilder is considering Evans or anyone else, but no doubt he's keeping his own counsel where that's concerned. Such is my faith in Wilder's choice of player that I'll support whoever he decides is right to play for this club. It's really Wilder's platform to lose, until now he's done a sterling job, so Chris has set high standards, something I know we're all happy about.

Must admit, whether Evans has a second chance at this club or not, it's not long before we discover if this is something that'll happen or whether we move on and look at someone new.
chris will know whether he wants fresh blood or not
he might ship out one or two and bring in two

wouldn't surprise me
I never see any reason not to vitalise a squad at any time

Please.I am sorry to be pedantic and a pain in the arse but it is one of those things that pains me. Indeed I feel as though a knife has been inserted into my innards whenever I see it. It is "Counsel" not "Council". I don't think his original Queen's Counsel would take too kindly to being called "any old lawyer", though I'm not arguing with the assessment.
sorry . being a good boy never had to seek it , so its alien to me

You failed to capitalise at the start of a sentence deliberately didn't you! You're destroying me and I was having such a good afternoon. :(

So would Billy and Ched work as a front two ? I believe so, here is why.

Both have the intelligence and "nouce" to understand what each other wants, in terms of runs, supply, and where to be on the pitch at any given time.

We have seen how effective Coutts and Fleck have been recently. Mostly for exactly the same reasons.

How many times has Sharp delivered quality balls in to the box already this season ?

Who has been on the end ???

And it would work the other way as well with Ched providing quality supply for Billy.

I like Done and all he does for the side. But he is limited.

But Done isn't Ched, who would be a massive upgrade on what we already have as a partner for Sharp.

Yep ched knows how to team up with another bloke

Because he already has Leon Clarke under contract.
I thought Wilder was in the business of getting promotion. Leon Clarke is not the right fit for Wilder's style of play.
Clarke is at the wrong end of his career, any enthusiasm he had for the game is spent. Just watch him when the teams are doing the pre match warm up and stretches, everyone's doing whatever they should be, while he goes through the motions, with a minimum of effort.
On the occasions he gets on the pitch he plays in exactly the same manner.
Wilder may well turn out to be one of Utds greatest managers, but he dropped a bollock when he signed Leon, especially on a three year deal :(

1) Who bought me lunch this summer?
2) Who runs a football team in Sheffield (the one with the Desso pitch)?
3) Who doesn't the freehold at BDTBL but is called Kevin?
4) Who are we lucky to have as chairman of our beloved PLC?
5) Which current Chairman of SUFC PLC used to to go the same secondary school as Bladesway?

OK, I'm pretty much bored now but you see where this is heading.

ive said ad infinitum KM is what we are stuck with .Can we get someone richer, obviously not. Until we find that fairy investor KM is keeping us afloat , and our backer in this seasons oromotion push. Best not to drive away our only source of finance wouldnt you agree

And if you read further back you would see I said if Wilder says he is the man we should get him. It won't leave any moral issue in my mind because the bloke was proven innocent. I'm just not sure (on footballing grounds) he is the man. Now had I said that about any other player I don't think I would receive comments about being "special needs" do you?

My post wasn’t specific to you, just that I thought your post highlighted a more general point of people who get angry about the very mention of his name then going on to post at length about him.

For what it’s worth, no, I don’t think “special needs” comments are warranted. On the whole, I enjoy reading his contributions but SBT can be inappropriate at times.

I’ve no problem with you thinking he’s not the man for us from a footballing point of view. There are a fair few that share your view. But I’m not one of them. The niggling injuries are a concern but when he has played, I think he’s showed enough to suggest he would be an upgrade on Done (although I do like Done) and that Evans and Sharp could score for fun between them in this team (if fit). For what I believe he’d cost compared to what I think we could gain, I believe he’s worth the relatively small gamble.
