Filthy rich owners who are throwing money at us .

We'll , that's according to Coventry City fans on their forum .

Is that how the fans of other teams really see us in this League ? Or is this appraisal of our owners made in relative terms ??

I thought our chairman was a rapacious money whoring crook who is determined to destroy our once proud Club . The man who sells all our of better players and never replaces like for like ? A man who has cynically manipulated his control of the Club ready for a brand new Aldi being built where the centre spot is now .

Well , he is , isn't he ?

I'm not a great fan of our Chairman for the decisions he has made on the playing side. Appointing poor managers on numerous occasions and lacking ambition when it's needed....

BUT I don't think McCabe has done anything to spite us. His judgement is just poor.

One thing he does deserve credit for is building the infrastructure of the club. The ground is great compared to what it was 10-15 years ago.

We have pissed a fair bit of money away trying to get out of this league even if it was just on player wages.

I would say we are better off than most in this league which is why it is shameful that we struggle year on year to get out of this shithole of a league.

This isn't an anti McCabe statement as like you guys I feel he has our best interest at heart; but

1. We are a division lower than when he took over.
2. Sheff Utd no longer owns it's ground (which it did when he took over).
3. We've been in this division 6 years now the longest in our history.
4. Every season we have sold our best player(s).

It's as if they think we've never been in their situation, the difference is we are currently heading in the right direction but we all know how quickly that can turn around (last month we thought Bradford were the biggest threat now they get barely a mention! )

He is clearly a very successful property magnate.
He knows little more than most on here as to running a football club hence the many mega fuck ups.
He is however a true Blade and as such,on reflection I am eternally grateful for his tenure when I look at what we could have had.
Hopefully we will succeed this season. IF we do,then we will really see what he's made of.

And they've got , a fucking, splutter splutter, Desso pitch that they don't even need....the bastards.

I would rather have kept Jamie Murphy and signed a new grounds man then spunk millions on a Desso,United holed below the water line, struggling to get back to base

If I understand your attempt at English correctly do you really think we sold Murphy to fund a pitch? Seriously?

Even if we did,it is turning into a cracking piece of business.

No

He just sells our best players to fund a complete waste of time state of the art desso pitch

........ and we're off ...... :p

We get 3x sometimes 4x the crowd other rest of league 1. Not really chucking money, more crowds so more finances

Well that is accordingly to the Coventry City fans on their forum who protested and turned it on us a bit as well, and got all uppity when we got pissed off with it and gave them some return fire.

I've just been having a very interesting discussion on Twitter with a Derby fan who appears to have swallowed the Coventry story whole, when even their own video shows otherwise.

Facts* and history lessons** appear to have confounded, as well as suggesting that we're not actually that bothered if the "football community" doesn't like us.

* He claimed that the protest didn't threatened the result. I pointed out that Blackpool v. Huddersfield was abandoned at 0-0 and the result stood. Had the referee called off last night, our chance to win may very well have been denied us.

** He wanted us to be able to show in future that we were a "pillar of the football community". I said we had nothing to prove, particularly after what we did for Rotherham.

Did their ex manager Mowbray spout this crap at the start of the season about us being loaded?

The Coventry fan that wrote his open (whinging) letter to the star made two points about SISU:

- SISU sell all their best players
- SISU fail to invest in the team

On these two points alone, we could have some fun looking at the last two seasons, we could also place ourselves in the same boat....

We have sold 2 of our best young players (both internationally capped)
Had to sell/ release/ cancel contracts of half our squad
Sacked a manager with a track record for progress to the Premier league from this division
Released Adkins 'star player' Hammond

We've replaced them with
- Ageing Striker in Clarke and a reserve player fromWednesday
- Built a squad on the cheap (compared to the previous players) relying on free transfers like fleck and shite like Coutts and Basham. Freeman was playing League 2 last year.
- Become reliant on loan players like EEL, Lafferty and Harry Chapman, the latter being injury prone
- Brought in a manager with no record of promotion from this division, but League 2, preparing us for relegation
- When they have invested its been on the Desso pitch and apparently we play long ball, so what was the point in that.

Its all about perspective and perception, but we're cutting our cloth in this division too, we just so happen to have owners with patience for a return on their investment and they have a manager with experience which allows us to spend less, but in the right areas.

Had we kept Adkins we'd still be the Man City of the division, but we'd be in the same position (or worse than) Coventry.

I seem to remember the last game of last season's 'view from' and Coventry fans, taking the piss out of how poor we were.

Had they got a stable on field situation (ie a decent League 1 manager), then they might've been further up the league. But i guess its hard to manage a football team with awful fans like that.

Can't help but think the context of the game had an impact on some Blades' reactions.

Had we been 3-1 up I'm sure we would have been happy to go 100% behind them.

As it was, they were in the process of disrupting our potential to take 3 points. The result might have been secondary for them but not for us.

By all means protest before and after the game, at half time or even if you must, immediately after kick off when the game hasn't taken shape.

Whistling through the game so players can't hear the ref or each other, throwing things on the pitch and disrupting play and halting the game in the crucial closing moments is the reason for the antagonistic pro-Sisu chants.

They could have protested without hurting the opposition. They failed to consider that at all, so bleating to the Football community is null and void as far as I'm concerned.

How does the context of the game compare to Charlton not even a month ago.

no

its possibly as wrong as wrong can be

yes he likes to make money, hes a businessman
but hes kept us in comparative luxury in our position

for exanple , look at coventry
34 years in the prem fa cup winers ,they have a crook chairman
as do blackpool ,charlton , wednesdays had a few
but we in these circumstances we are and always have been stable , financially

is he a genius chairman , hell no , his footballing choices are questionable , but he puts enough to run us

and when no one else has even offered to
are you putting in several million a year to offset losses?
and if we go up , who will have funded it

using your inbuilt spreadsheet try looking at the in column some time

Have you ever come across the word "irony", old chap?

Here's a clue: it's nothing to do with Scunthorpe.

Honest question.

Why even rise to this bull ?

Surely giving it the oxygen it so clearly doesn't deserve.

They are a family in crisis who will moan about everything and anything right now. Let em stew in their own juice.

yes and manchester city were in league one not long back , look where they are now
clubs have highs , clubs have lows
mc cabes had some highs for 10 years then 5 crap
maybe 5 more highs to come, or even more

who knows
ferguson had 7 years of mediocrity before becoming the biggest winner of all time
going up this season would be very sweet and like wednesday fans have this period will soon be forgotten
as far as they remember theyve never been here

After initially feeling some sympathy this is now my own view. Taking everything into consideration, their response has been waaay over the top especially as we're now we're aware that other things happened during the game that was obviously designed to put our players off their game.

I just wonder if the situation had been in reverse and a Blade had wrote an open letter to the Coventry local press what would have happened?

I suspect it would have been laughed at and gone in the bin.

The Sheffield Star couldn't wait to publish it.

I also suspect a lot of open letters to the Star about Wendy have gone into the shredder over the years particularly from Merseyside.
