Seems to me supporters at many clubs want someone to come in with a wad of cash to fire them up the league or save them from closing. If it works out (Leicester etc) they quickly forget the inequalities in football and have zero sympathy with supporters of the many clubs who struggle hand to mouth. If it blows up in their faces the bellyaching begins big time and the solidarity with fellow supporters card gets played.
There is no doubt that the Sisu thing is a running sore at Coventry, but it really irritated me to see and hear the opportunistic interference Coventry supporters used in the game when the play was with the Blades, but not when it was with Coventry. The game itself may not have mattered to them, but it mattered to us. The conduct of the game, supervision of the stadium was woeful, possibly complicit. Sky seemed to smell trouble in choosing the fixture and in their attitude to the disruption. They appeared to condone it. Some of the post match comments reproduced on this site (death wishing, Sharp's baby etc) ooze with extremism, bile and have nothing whatsoever to do with sport or common humanity.
I hope Coventry are sanctioned and our policing bill for the return at the Lane is reduced by their supporters being banned from attending it. Charlton, Blackpool, Cardiff etc I have some sympathy with, but after tonight's display I think Coventry supporters have got what they deserve with Sisu. Sod them.
