I think the problem is, Billy wants to be the main man in the box and have someone run round for him. Done realised this and with Billy being captain knew that the best way to get into the side was to run around for Billy. Done likes running around anyway so was probably fairly content to do so, and has enough experience to run into the right areas.
Clarke seems to also want to be the main man in the box and would like someone to run around for him.
Lavery is still learning and hasn't had a regular partner who he can build an understanding with.
And Chapman's fucked.
I think CW has to sit down with Clarke and Billy and tell them either start trying to work together or I'll drop one or both of you. It's a team game so start playing like one. But he may well have done that. Maybe benching Billy against Bolton was his way of saying 'you're not untouchable'.
Not if he's getting too big for his boots we don't. But the truth is, whilst I used to know someone related to Bill, I have no inside information on this so I don't know if he's a problem or not, in that respect. I can only go on what I see on the pitch.BushBlade, that is a spot on analysis and difficult to argue with except for the last sentence. Billy will get 25 goals this season whereas the other three won't get 25 between them. This is irrespective of who plays or who doesn't and however they team up tactically. Its got to be Billy plus AN Other and as for giving Billy any ultimatum, I'm afraid the situation is that we need Billy more than Billy needs us at the moment.
How can anyone judge Lavery on one game and a couple of 5 minute cameos?
Incredibly unlikely to be upheld as an oral contract, cannot see that this would be his claim. There would be no certainty on the terms of the deal, and you'd never prove the intention to create legal relations. You could also say that this is 'an agreement to agree', which are unenforceable. He may have. Depending on how strongly the promise was made, who it was made by and what witnesses or other supporting evidence there is.
Whether he'll win, and if he does, how much he'll get would be for the court to decide.
He needs to think very carefully about this though. I suspect whatever promises were made, they were general, rather than specific so even if he proved the case he might not get much in compensation and may not get costs awarded.
I'd advise him to forget this shit and concentrate solely on what's left of his career and to make sure he maximises it. Not fuck about with vexatious legal claims.
But I'm not a solicitor. Others may have a better informed take on this.
I agree, and the point you make is essentially the same point as I do in my first paragraph. I think it's highly unlikely there is sufficient evidence to support a claim that an oral contract has been made but as I haven't seen the 'evidence' I can't say that with total certainty.Incredibly unlikely to be upheld as an oral contract, cannot see that this would be his claim. Add to that the public policy grounds of setting a precedent that convicts can enforce loose assurances of work on their release and I think Ched's lawyers will be smart enough to avoid this.
Only claim I can think of is if he feels the club obstructed or influenced his approach to the initial trial and therefore somehow contributed to his wrongful conviction. Still seems unlikely, so may just be bullshit?
I gave him the benefit of the doubt and when he's feels like he can be dangerous especially at this level but he has an attitude problem and he'll do as little as possible in order to pull a wage. When Clarke came on as sub he was a completely different person. He was fighting for his place, and now he got a place in the past few games, it seems like he's given up again
Anybody sense a Mcnulty return??
Noooo!! Send him to Buxton, they're finally having a half decent season down here at the other Lane.I think he should sit down with Clarke and tell him he's going to Matlock town on loan.
