Some interesting comments there, particularly about the strikers. Whilst I don't want to be too critical of our forward line, we have 2 players who are still coming back to full match fitness and another who can't buy a goal. It is therefore quite apparent that if Billy goes off colour we could start to struggle to score. Hopefully the midfield and defence will keep chipping in and I do expect Billy and Clarke to get more goals but I wouldn't be surprised if Chris looks for another striker in January.

Billy ' gos off colour ' whenever he has to do.all the horse work upfront . If CW decides to drop Done then he should drop Sharp aswell . Sharp struggles with any of his potential strike partners except Done .

I think the last comment is spot on .................. “Sheffield definitely the best team I’ve seen but they need to find a quality striker.” One of Clarke,Done or Lavery need to step up to the plate Billy can't do it all on his own without his goals we would be screwed. Says it all when little Scoogs is the next best goal scorer.

Cheers Royston, as always good work, now off to bed with you and have a rest

Stretch, you've hit the nail on the head, despite all our goals striker is our weakest area. For the amount of possession we have we aren't scoring enough, it's cost us 2 points today and might have cost us points in the last 2 home games where we struggled to put to bed 2 bottom 4 sides.

I think Chapman deserves more of a chance down the middle and if not unless Clarke starts to produce another centre forward is a must in January.

Fair point that mate, whilst Billy can score all types of goals I agree that he is better poaching chances with someone next to him doing the graft, and there is no shame in that. It would be interesting to see a new partnership or even a trio up front but for the time being I still think Billy is the best bet to notch the goals.

It's a frustrating read as it confirms that we pretty much threw away what should have been a comfortable win but at the same time to go there and totally dominate shows how far we have come. We still lack things at both ends of the pitch. I never fancy us to keep a clean sheet and we don't convert enough chances with the great positions we get in. We can certainly improve but we have come a long way in a short time. Who's to say Big Kev won't give Wilder the funds to put the final pieces of the jigsaw together in January

Who do you think that could be?

Generally complimentary but not sure where they get the "cynical" bit from. They were desperate from the off, appealing for anything and the no 7 Lookman really needs to take a look at himself. Constantly throwing himself to the floor and getting the tit on when he got nothing. Great stuff as usual Roy!

They obviously never look at the league one leading scorer tables. The missed ped pen might just have knocked him out of his stride a but, but IMO he'll score 20-30 and there's every chance he'll be the league's top scorer. Hopefully he'll score a goal and a pen on Tuedsy and he'll be back on a roll.

I agree Billy does need a partner though to take the pressure off.

I know he has his detractors but we needed done today. It's all well and good playing Clarke but it clearly makes sharp less effective - done misses his changes but he allows sharp to do what he does best - poach.

'Best team we've played all season' seems to be in there pretty much every week. Shows how far we've come in a relatively short space of time.

Gutted to concede at the death, but the overall quality of our play seems to be there, and we know we can be clinical as we showed against Chesterfield, Port Vale and others.
It's just a matter of consistency of finishing.

Slight sour taste at the end but to me there can be absolutely no doubt that we will get there, that's how much faith I have in Wilder

When Done played we were the top scorers in Europe as a team. Big mistake replacing him with Clarke in my opinion. He should always get the first hour.

Exactly. It's not about who scores the goals, it's about the amount of goals the team scores. By allowing our best goalscorer to play to his strengths, Done plays an important role.

Talking of distractors, I really hope that Duffy's distractors are starting to see what a class act he is and how vital he's going to be for us this season.

I worry about anyone who hasn't already been convinced by Duffy. It would take a remarkable degree of ignorance and know-nowtery to miss the fact he's the advanced pivot of our team.

Agreed JD. Although it has to be said with all due respect that based on earlier posts, there's a few feckers on here who are unlikely to get anywhere near to balaclava and overalls, let alone cap and gown..

What's the betting the Football Gods allow Robinson to qualify them for the playoffs by 'one point' and then they deny us in the play offs?

I really can't see sharp and Clarke forming any sort of meaningful partnership to be honest, I think the only way we can use them both is if Clarke comes on for Sharp later in the game or we have wingers whipping balls in to Clarke and Billy is sat watching from the dug out.
I really think Evans would be a better match up with sharp in all honesty, don't think Clarke looks hungry or fits in to the team.
