Trains from London Bridge to Charlton are screwed this weekend so we're going from Cannon St to Charlton.

Pubs around the ground sound inadequate for a sell out crowd so supping in the pubs near Cannon St before taking the over ground to Charlton ( a whole 16 min journey).

Also considered Blackheath or Greenwich so still open to suggestions on the pub front.

Where would any of the London based Blades or anyone for that matter go if they were coming from the Victoria part of London? We will want to participate in one or two jars. :)

I'm heading across from Victoria. Going to go to Embankment (6 mins on Circle Line) and then catch a boat to Greenwich Pier (this takes approximately 50 minutes, but for the sake of saving 20 minutes by travelling underground, I think this will be the better experience, plus they serve beer on the boat!). From there it's about a 10 minute walk to Greenwich Park (great views of London), have a morning stroll (or cycle on a Boris Bike if I can find one) then commence the drinking around 12:30ish.

Still investigating good pubs on the Greenwich to Charlton route, but will probably aim to be in The Antigallican by 2ish, a quick bit of research suggests it's the usual haunt that a lot of away fans gravitate towards as it's only a 5 minute walk to the ground.

If anybody has any good pub suggestions on the Greenwich to Charlton route to fill in that hour or two of my day that'd be great.

There's very few open round that way on a Saturday. You can either go to a place called the Cannick Taps (and I'd call them to check they will be open) or get the train to Charlton but bail at Greenwich and drink your way over from there.

If you're training it from Cannon Street one option could be...

Northern line to London Bridge
Go through Borough Market to boozers like the Old Thameside Inn and The Anchor
Cross Southwark Bridge to Cannon Street

That might be the best option for anyone wanting to drink centrally before the match.

Anyone got any spare tickets for Charlton - looking for two but one would be great?

A decent gathering of us southern blades have now decided to head to the Gate Clock in Greenwich first (a weatherspoons) but appreciate others might look for other things in a boozer. Train to the ground from Greenwich takes about 7 minutes direct.

So there's going to be 3k blades in London should be a fair few out and about in Greenwich and around kings cross after ooh I do love a away day #Dst #sufc

Just got a ticket tonight was going to drive but fancy train don't suppose anyone has a spare train ticket?

The Antigallican is fucking shit.

This from Walthy. It's predominantly home fans as they only have to fall out of the tap room and they're in the ground. It's their equivalent of the Cricketers on Bramall Lane and it is indeed, a shithole.

The Rose of Denmark nearby welcomes away fans but its always rammed. The smart idea would be to meet in Greenwich as there are about half a dozen decent boozers there with plenty of places to also get a bite to eat. Try Greenwich Market for the amazing street food.

Blackheath is nearby and is a similar distance from the ground. Again, there's some great pubs to enjoy just in case it all goes shit shaped at three o clock.

Be loads of Blades in and around Cannon St getting the overland down to Charlton I expect.

Win or lose on the booze. UTB

Which Greenwich are we referring to?

The one on the grey line (North Greenwich) or the one on the turquoise blue line (Greenwich).

I only a country boy.

Thanks Walthy,

I am going to drive down the M11 and park at Epping or thereabouts.

Tube to Greenwich.

Keep me posted if the LB's agree on a pub to meet at for pre match drinks and grub.

Cheers, Tony.

Park at Theydon Bois, just off junction 26 and a nice pub next to the tube station.

The Harp in Covent Garden is a 3 minute walk from Embankment and is the former haunt of the LBs. Think we're starting there before heading to Cannon Street then Greenwich - look out for a fat lad talking bollocks. http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/92/924/Harp/Covent_Garden

I'd rather shit in my hands and clap then go back in the Harp.

You won't be able to get in wearing colours, will spend an age at the bar behind some cunt sampling 6 beers and then buying half of the first one he tried and end up rooster-tailing for 3 days after eating one of their sausages.
