*Sun Jihai vs Coventry, James Beattie v Charlton & Chris Basham v Scunthorpe.
It was Naughton who came in for Sun Jihai. But I agree Naughton wouldn't have got a sniff unless he got sent off because he was playing really well and was a cult hero. And who knows who the current England right back would be if he hadn't sent him off.
The most spectacular red card you will ever see; even Big Georges doffed his cap I'll bet.It was Naughton who came in for Sun Jihai. But I agree Naughton wouldn't have got a sniff unless he got sent off because he was playing really well and was a cult hero.
To be fair to Deadman it was two footed and definitely a red.
Fair enough. Didn't realise it was him.On Nov 2011, Sharp scored for Donny v Middlesborough, & raised his shirt to reveal `That`s for you son`, a poignant message for the son he & his wife lost four days prior.
The referee was Darren Deadman who opted NOT to book Sharp, & was later told by the Fa he SHOULD have yellow carded him.
Deadman will always be ok in my book, for that one act.
If we get to the POF he'll be the ref. And we'll go home sad again. He's an absolute mentalist. The biggest threat to our unbeaten run so far.
Not if he sends off two of our players and gives them a pen. Not at the same time, obviouslyWe should be good enough to rise above any poor referee.

This dick destroyed the game as a contest today. Second foul the one on Coutts looked a shocker.I'm genuinely more worried about Deadman making one of his trademark mental decisions then I am of any Shrewsbury player. That's not a slight on Shrewsbury, it's a testament to how Deadman can single handedly change a game out of nothing
I have no idea why the first one was a red card, was it dissent?
Second one was a red card in any era of football, shocking challenge.
If you'd said 2 Shrewsbury players off and a pen to us it would be spot on.Not if he sends off two of our players and gives them a pen. Not at the same time, obviously![]()
Goal scoring opportunity is only a yellow if the referee considers it a legitimate attempt to win the ball. Since Lafferty's controlled it in the six yard box and their lad takes his back leg out from behind, I don't see how he can see it as anything but a professional foul and still a red.
The second red was undoubtedly deserved. It was a horribly high tackle. Lucky Coutts didn't end up with a broken leg. From where I was sat, the first was a red for preventing a goal scoring opportunity (last man), and I thought it was harsh, but I am old school. Even the second, I thought was a good hard challenge, but I wasn't 5 yards away from the challenge like Deadman was.
I'd you think players having their legs snapped into bits is an acceptable challenge then good luck to you. From where I was sat, the first was a red for preventing a goal scoring opportunity (last man), and I thought it was harsh, but I am old school. Is Billy our best penalty taker? I don't think he's that good at taking them, to be honest. He did give us a pen,as a positive.
Yes I'd say he is despite him not being that great. His technique is to rip the back of the net off which occasionally results in misses. We haven't had a proper penalty taker since Nick Blackman. Is Billy our best penalty taker? I don't think he's that good at taking them, to be honest.
