EEL no go Sunday

Here's the story. EEL will get caught in a cathouse with Jose and Ched off their tits on top of a Xmas Ho(HO HO) just before Xmas. He'll take the rap as they have previous and he's clean. He'll get sent down in Feb for 3 months the day before the Scunny game. They'll win 4-1 due to defensive catastrophes. We won't win again till the MK Dons away game but finish 5th and lose in the PO semis against Bradford 8-7.
You heard it hear first.

Case of wait and see with EEL, pointless wondering will we sign him permanently or keep him on loan for the season. As with all loans the parent club hold all the cards, having him cup tied could have been a factor in where he could go if they were offered a permanent deal for him. Think it is wishful thinking, he might choose to come here when there might be better offers on the table, fairly certain money will be the major factor in wage negotiations and that's even before we talk about a transfer fee. So lets hope he keeps fit and enjoy his contribution to the upturn in results.

Don't panic, with the Blades top of the league and riding the crest of the promotion wave in January, players will be taking a pay cut to come to Bramall Lane, to immerse themselves in the heady atmosphere and positivity.

For this reason, I fully expect EEL to be signed permanently and if not, then a replacement of similar quality to be brought in to fill the void. :)

The signing of EEL was always for him to get first team football away from Wolves. It wasn't because of lack of form, it was regarding getting games after injury.

Unfortunately for us, if he does well, then Wolves will have him back in January and offer him the contract he wants.

There is nothing we can do to get him other than wait and see. Wolves already sniffing around him as he is getting rave reviews. Hence no FA Cup appearance for us !!!

Larky,

I have a good contact at Wolves who told me recently that EEL has no future at Wolves
, he was their 4th choice centre back.

However that was when Walter Zenger was in charge.
It might change when they appoint a new manager but the Wolves fans never rated him as no way near good enough for the Championship, they say he always made occasional bad errors. They actually find it funny that we rate him so highly and that he's a bit of a cult hero.

They said he'll be great in league 1 because he can make his errors and not get punished like he would do in the Championship.

Unlike the defenders they've got now, playing a blinder every week.

Thought EEL was on loan for the season, definitely been on the OS, someone on here even put a link the other week.

But, but, there is no one else to fill my void if the EEL goes. I will be bereft of a long squirmy fishy thing.:(:(:(

Cheers Sheff,
Looks like he might not be up to the job if we go up then .....

I think most season long loans have a recall clause in them...just like we have with Brayford and McNulty. Whatever spin we put on him not being able to play it's not a positive one !

I'm not surprised or worried about him being cup tied, most loans include that clause. I am, however, worried that Zenga has been sacked - he clearly didn't have EEL in his immediate plans, the new manager may see how well he has played for us and just call him back immediately.

Wolves are doing exactly what we would expect wilder to do and he would.
Eels loan has worked out well for all concerned. We have a committed player playing well and being an influence on us getting points.
Wolves get their player fit and playing well. It could well mean they want him back but how it has turned out is the best everyone could have hoped for.
The only downside as I see it is that he will cost us a bit with every good game he has.

It's been a while but here he is.

At the risk of getting way ahead of myself, he's exactly the kind of player we need SHOULD (when???) we get promoted to the Championship. We've got a strong core (Moore, EEL, O'Connell, Fleck, Duffy) of Championship level players and need to build around them.

Pretty sure Tufty knows this and have faith he's got a plan!! He's certainly a man with a plan!
