View From MK Dons

Before the match i saw an old guy(like me) decked out in MK Dons garb from head to toe. I couldn't help thinking of the difference between him and myself. Me a lifetime Blade and this guy an MK for a few years. Who the hell did he support for the previous 40 or so years. Fair play to him if he only ever supported them and no-one beforehand, but i would suggest that being a football lover he must surely have supported (or followed) another team.
Milton Keynes is a new city and have never had a football team but the way they went about getting their own team stinks. If they had cultured a team from grass roots and come through the leagues (like AFC Wimbledon have had to do) and become MK United or summat, then the distaste that all football fans feel for their club would not exist.

Maybe he was one of the few Wimbledon fans who stuck with what he saw as 'his club'. It was a difficult choice at the time. One no supporter should have to make.

Breathtaking that they are disparaging to Scunthorpe, like they are somehow a bigger team.

I was thinking the same thing. The arrogance of a club with no heritage, who stole an identity and football league place from Wimbledon to disparage a club like Scunthorpe just because you have had a year in the Championship is mind boggling.

Scunny are where they are on merit, just as the MK Plastics are where they are on merit.

Also the "look at the shit KR has left us in". From the outside he did a pretty good job for 7 years and you should be thanking him.

Bring on plastic Nigel and his geese, feels like the perfect match to me.

Thanks Roygbiv, i have Barney blocked so I dont get to see the plastic version of view from, I prefer to stick with the classier and best version. One of the forum highlights for me.

Their fans can't possibly be taken seroiusly by anyone. Imagine being a customer of that club...

Hillarious to hear these tossers slagging off our ancient, significant and well loved city. Milton Keynes on the other hand is the most pointless place in the Country. Completely devoid of character, history or anything of interest. Their horrible 'club' reflects this perfectly and I sincerely hope they are playing in lg2 in front of 2500 in that empty dustbowl next year. Unfortunately they won't though, they will get it together and push for the playoffs in late season.

So glad we beat them.

Milton Keynes is a new city

I thought that they want to be a city but each application has been refused.

A bit like MK Dons. Want to believe that they have history and status - but no-one else falls for it.

Was stuck there a few years back working away ... the most boring place to spend the weekday evenings that I have experienced. Worse than Swindon - and that's saying something.

Explains some of the comments ...

Still a town. Like you said, they've been refused numerous times. They print "MK City" on every signpost, which I guess is why people think they are one.

“We dominate the halfway line."

Fair comment - what caused them such problems getting out of the division for years, despite being so good. And what led to them barely creating a chance yesterday, despite looking a decent side.

Getting all 'ooh er, missus' for a moment - they've got no thrust or penetration. As well as them being an offensive stain on football's shreddies.

Thanks as always Roy.

I was wondering if you were tempted not to do a view from as NOT recognising them as genuine fans of a football club.

it would be mk chairman , Pete Winkleman you saw ,Football genocide springs to mind with that piece of sh1t

Milton Keynes its not their fault someone had to be born there. They are only jealous because they were in gods country.

we do have something in common and here he is showing off the wonders of MK:

“Sheffield is a cesspit of inbreeding and bitter wife beating drunk ugly men.”

I think this bloke must have gotten us mixed up with Barnsley?

Maybe they think that if they say it often enough that people will believe they are a city.

A bit like the myth that Stuart Maconie started that Bob Holness played the sax on Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street. Some people believed it but it didn't change the fact it was utter bollocks.

I hate MK Dons. I hate everything about how they came to exist, how they ripped the heart out of one of football's great fairytales and how they then have ideas above their station and delusions of granduer. I hate that they have fans who 'support' them and Man U/Arse/Chelsea. I hate that they get 5 thousand to a league game then 30 thousand against Man U reserves in the league cup. I hate that the media, sky in particular, seem to be up Winkleman's arse and glamourising how great Stadium MK and the franchise is.

Then I stop and think, think that at some point the horrible way they came to exist will be history, their fan base will be made up of people to yploung to have lived that and they will be true fans of their local team (there may even be some now) and I wonder if I am being too harsh.

I then read comments like that and I think fuck the bunch of plastic, false, yuppie, new town wankers. Even their fucking cows are fake. Stupid fuckers.

I can't get too worked up about comments from MK Dons fans
But, the chant "Everywhere we go, people wanna know, who we are......" made me shake my head in disbelief. Delusion in a nutshell.

This is the MK Dons version that they were singing yesterday

"Everywhere we go (everywhere we go)"
"People want to know (people want to know)"
"Who we are (who we are)"
Shall we tell 'em? (shall we tell 'em)"
"No we better not do (no we better not do)"
"Because they'll laugh (because they'll laugh)"

Few comments I gathered last night...

"Really bad stadium, I don't like it, it feels too real and it scared me"

"why were the home fans making noise?"

"Why was the stadium more than 20% full? Felt so weird..."

"Enjoyed it so much more when I went there supporting Chelsea in 2006."

"Bet it wasn't as good as when I saw my Gooners win there in the league cup in 2007..."

"really hope we can get Nigel Adkins in, he'd suit us perfectly"
And more
Why aren't the seats padded and why are they so close together. Not like a proper arena, sorry stadium.
