THAT team is relegation material

I only bumped it because there was another similar thread bumped and I searched out of interest

I didn't even pass comment at first

I really don't see why people get upset by it, if you don't like your opinions being challenged a forum is a strange place to air them

We might lose the next five games, feel free to bump my clapper posts if we do

I won't mind

Challenge the opinion of the opening post with a little more courage and intent than just "another one" - it might help your case, which might also result in a debate.

I'm not upset and I'm certain others aren't either, but you should ask yourself the question of why you got the reactions you did from other posters.

i don't have a case to answer mate

I bumped a thread, if you don't like it fair enough, if it didn't upset you then I'm glad.

I think you've taken it way too seriously personally but hay ho

I think it just shows how quick some fans are to judge. We should all know that it takes 10/12 games to see any sort of pattern emerging. We were excellent at Bolton, unlucky in the next couple of games and self destructed v Southend. That doesn't make for a crisis and so it's proved.

Long way to go yet but anyone want to admit their reactions were hasty?

Those flounces were just too damn early! Awkward!

Still not interested in debating the OP - probably because you can't.

Stick to bumping up threads like someone else did...........it's what sheep do.

To be fair anyone who witnessed our first few games couldn't disagree with anything you wrote in that original post.

The Rochdale game especially and the first half against Oxford was relegation material.

Thank god it's turned round.

There are sheep on here . And they can type . And they bump up threads . All I've ever seen them do is bleat, eat grass, give sideways glances and kick a bit when they're getting sheared.

Sheep post on message boards, I fucking love the internet, you learn something new every day :tumbleweed::fattwat:

I disagree. It was obvious after 4 games that
- Hussey couldn't defend
- the way the forwards were being used was not working
-Long was not up to it (this was of course obvious before the season began)
- we needed new recruits

i would agree we were also unlucky, but these problems were real and identifiable.

The difference in our form came about not because things bedded down but because we have a manager who tried to tackle all of these problems head on, and did things to solve these problems, and the last 8 games suggests that he's done a damn good job.

He didn't dither like Adkins, he wasn't stubborn like Clough or Weir. He just dealt with the problems he had. Good for him.

So far not that crazy. But you never know, when it all goes TU you can search for and resurrect this thread and say "I told you so".

Why would I search for an old thread so I act like I'm king dick on a football forum read by a load of people I don't know? That would be pretty sad and pathetic wouldn't you agree?

Why are all these smug cunts bumping up old threads? I can only presume you aren't aware of the diabolic run we were on when these threads were made. If it was the other way around and we started off on a magnificent winning streak you'd be the first ones rimming Chris Wilders arsehole and being just as reactive.

As the saying goes, "hinesight is a wonderful thing" - its very easy to look back and cherry pick to criticise and score points rather than debate things contemporaneously. For what its worth I agreed wholeheartedly with the original post by Fulwood (and his subsequent comments/analysis). Things do change, sometimes miraculously (like Paul Coutts - much leaner and keener since he was transfer listed) and sometimes because a manager at SUFC does his job effectively (for a change). Things may take another twist or may not. Who knows? Bumping threads to score personal points is a bit sad and comes across as smug - particularly if you weren't involved in the original debate.

Anybody who writes a team or manager off less than two weeks into the season must be letting their heart rule their head because teams and managers can turn it around serval months into the season and we see happen often enough. Sometimes things just click and players settle and maybe the right mix and style is found.

That said, I think anybody who reckons we've turned it around and are on our way up at this stage of the season are equally getting way ahead of themselves. We've stopped the rot and things a looking a lot brighter than they were, but let's be honest after hapless Adkins and our start thus season they couldn't be any worse could they?

Fans getting too down too soon just depresses the crap out of everybody especially if your sat near them at games, but raising our expections too high at this stage can also work against us. Let's just stick behind Wilder and the lads he picks for now, and hopefully by the end of this year we'll have a good idea if this season is going to be memorable for the right reasons.

So we all shut up then? - might as well shut the forum then..............or perhaps that's OTHER forums?

Never thought we were a relegation side, but I didn't think we were when we dropped into this god awful league so never say never. My concern was it looked unlikely we could mount a promotion challenge, the thought we couldn't compete at this level as last season was a downer. Hopefully CW will continue to move us forward, at the moment it looks promising.

The team that has played most preseason games

The team that has, to a man, started all games this season, has relegation written all over it.

Really can't see why we have signed Wilson and Hussey - they are exactly what we have seen and where we are - bottom half players of L1. Long is so out of form, it's again been coming, and this is what can happen with younger players when defenders in front are poor.
Brayford is just a shadow of his former self - an unbelievable transformation that for all these years watching United I haven't ever seen before - from hero to zero.
O'Connell will (same as Long) suffer a deep dip in form unless he has experience AND a decent midfield in front of him.
Basham will never ever be a midfield player in a 4 - sorry, but he was bought, and is extremely efficient as a 5, never, ever as a 4.
Same for Done - originally a left back, converted to a front man - successive managers have now ruined a once decent player - his confidence will take ages to recover.
Fleck, expected to be the main man in the midfield and again, with what is around him (including our expectations of him) seems incapable of handling what he has found.
Duffy - don't know what to say - a busty player for Burton - Burton's managers must have known what makes him tick - looks a shadow of his former self.
Billy - what can you say - is United too big for him - is he constantly wanting to try too much and will never really excel.
Clark - doesn't look he could ever play with Billy.

What a mess, what a shambles - THIS IS A RELEGATION TEAM.

Two people on here, mentioned the R word after Saturday - does anyone genuinely think, these players could, as a unit, actually get better as the season goes on? There are at least 6 players in the team that shouldn't be - and others that don't seem to gel with others.

Collins/Mcev/Flynn et al are made to actually look decent players - what a shambles.

UTB

I liked Fleck and Duffy from the start. Billy is one of the best strikers in this division. Clarke should get plenty more chances though I agree didn't start particularly well. Otherwise, this post was pretty nailed on. We look far better for Brayford and Long dropping out (it would've been nice to see Brayford tried in the current system), and Basham is so much better.

Right now it's looking more than a little premature, and nothing could make McEveley look decent to me, but tactically everything highlighted here has been pretty close to the changes Wilder's made.

Sorry? I haven't searched for an old thread. No interest. Just presented with an old thread and pointed out so far its not so crazy to have sacked him. However, you...............Ah I see, you wouldn't be so pathetic as the OP to have...........Got it!

WTF are you on about? I'm just stating my own views. Do you have a problem with that?

Oh and by the way I've been a member on here as long as you, not just the OTHER forum. Should I have contacted you first for the ok to express my opinions?

Exactly mate, I post as I see it at the time. If I'm right or wrong in the long run I don't really care, I'm not going to start digging up old threads to point out if I've got things right especially if it's something negative about United.

Like I said before I hope Wilder proves me wrong and at the moment it's so far so good, long may that continue.
