And congrats to the team on today's imposing victory. That is (I think) what we have been expecting from United for some years. We need to capitalize on this and tuck ourselves behind Bradford with that gam in hand and put the pressure on them. Shame Cunthorpe won today to open up the gap even further. I hope we can catch them.

ps: McCabe (remember him) must be shitting himself that we look like promotion

We were excellent and still look like we could go up another gear. It really could have been a proper thumping with a little more gambling in the box. Not complaining though at all. As good as Bash has been it's only fair we stick with the same side Tuesday

I was expecting Vale to be more physical today and get in our faces but from start to finish we were excellent. A 4-0 thumping and also found out just before kickoff that my grandson Deacon was going to the match with his other Blade grandad today so today he officially becomes a Blade.

Proud of both the Blades and another young debut Blade.

Good performance which deserves the praise, but it could have been different. Freeman made a superb goal saving tackle at 0-0 which was hugely important to the overall outcome and hasn't been mentioned, and despite our dominance it was corners that got us our first two goals. Our 3rd goal then came right after they had a chance to make it 2-1. Good performance but we did get the rub of the green when required.

It's not rub of the green when our players are doing their jobs well.

Freeman's tackle was excellent play by him, not rub of the green.

Really enjoying watching the Blades now, couple of mates who stopped going are talking of returning, role on Bradford (and Shrewsbury)

You have to be happy with that performance, and providing CW can continue to get that level of performance from the players it looks promising.

How does Scunthorpe winning open the gap even further? Unless they were awarded an extra point for coming from behind.

Um, they won, didn't they? If franchise would have beaten them they would only be a point away from Bradford, a team who if we repeat today's score on Tuesday we could go above, and similarly have been a point behind. That would really put pressure on Scunthorpe as we would be the form team in the top six.

I didn't really say it was. But it was a situation where they could've easily scored and took the lead.

If not 'rub of the green' then 'things that went in our favour that often wouldn't' - like the two goals from corners... in the same half.

Um, so did we.
That's the only gap I'm bothered about.

It was a great block by Freeman but to say we got the rub of the green is daft. We totally dominated from start to finish. 4-0 and 4. goals disallowed says it all.

Run of the green with 4 goal ruled out for offside wouldnt like for it to go against us then
I thought it was an easy win today utb

True.

Also if we win our game in hand then we will close the gap on on them.

Sean I said during the game that if/when we put somebody to the sword there will be fans coming back, fans who have got out of the habbit will be talking with mates or relatives at work or inthe pub and will start to fancy it, after todays performance and score line its forced to happen.bring em on.

Today in my opinion was one the best all round league performances in years, a team that wanted to win and go that extra yard, the midfield 5 worked for each other, the front 2 closed everything down...the back 4...faultless..happy days

Totally agree.
The last time we outclassed the opposition like that was in the Danny Wilson/ Ched Evans days.

What is impressive is that every player and Sub looked comfortable in the position they were playing in. 3-5-2 is the way to go with these players. Please don't go back to 4-4-2

And had they not won today (my point) we would be a point behind them if we bag up on goals.

We had the ball in the net 8 (eight) times and you think we had the rub of the green?

To be honest I thought it was a bit boring we were so dominant, like watching a training game of attack and defence. Sure it was great to watch but personally i enjoyed our win over Brizzel more, backs to the wall, nail biting edge of the seat stuff and against 10'men at that, the Rovers fans created three times the atmosphere that the pitiful following from Port Vale did.

Still you can only beat what's in front of you

I'm struggling to remember the last time we scored four, can't fault them great team performance :):):):)

Probably the most encouraging thing is that Port Vale aren't a Donkey team from the foot of the table, they've been doing well consistently all season and we made them look like a pub side.

I just hope we don't lose on Tuesday to a donkey team from the foot of the table... karma can be a bitch sometimes.

Even after a good win; can't resist the malicious nonsense, can we? If you really think KM doesn't want promotion, you're dafter than I thought, and that requires a lot of daftness...

Thank Pele for that. I thought we'd forgotten. This is S2. None of your classy dominant football here. We're the Upanatem Underdogs and that's how we like it....
