I think they've made it short notice to stop United fans travelling to be honest, remember the 2 Millwall fans that were stabbed there in the UEFA Cup a few years back?
Not like they're not used to it

Right, it's on Ferencvaros' website that the game is on the 25th March, but United aren't mentioning it and the ticket office have no idea...
![]()
Still no details of travel however![]()
I don't think they particularly wan't people to travel.
Apostrophe in want? Careful, Mousey will be having you![]()
Right... word from the man who knows is....
We had not yet definately confirmed the fixture...
Although nothing has yet been decided regarding taking any Official
Travel, we have been advised by South Yorkshire Police NOT to encourage
supporters to travel to this game because of the high possibility of
trouble.
Any new details will be stuck on the official site as and when.
I can't see there being alot of trouble to be honest, our club have saved their club from going bust, we're practically the same club aswell so I think they'll take kindly to us.
And their normal enemies?![]()
SUFC said:Sheffield United will play a midweek friendly fixture in Hungary in just a couple of week's time.
Their hosts will be Ferencvaros, the most successful club in Hungary's history, on Tuesday 25th March, kick-off 7pm local time.
The Blades have been invited to play the game to celebrate the recent link announced between the two Clubs, and Kevin Blackwell will take his first-team squad over between the Championship fixtures at Barnsley and Preston North End.
A strategy of global expansion in terms of player development opportunities has seen United set up relationships with Clubs in China, Belgium, Australia, the Ivory Coast, South America and the West Indies in the last couple of years.
The Chengdu Blades created a good impression when they played at the Lane last year before going on to win promotion, and the forthcoming game with Ferencvaros is guaranteed to create much media interest in Hungary.
Ex Blade Paul Shaw is playing for them, another old boy Bobby Davison is on the coaching staff and United Football Club Chairman Terry Robinson has been made President.
SUFC said:Sheffield United take on one of the famous names in European football when they face Hungary's most prestigious outfit Ferencvaros in Budapest tonight.
Kevin Blackwell's depleted squad - minus a number of players away on International duty, and others sidelined by injury - landed on Monday night and conducted their first training session at the Florian Albert Stadium on Tuesday morning.
Derek Geary and Danny Webber have stayed behind but Nick Montgomery, recuperating from a broken foot, has made the journey to continue his fitness campaign with his team-mates. A number of young Blades players are expected to line-up against a team which lies in third place in Hungary's second tier and is pushing hard for a return to the top flight.
The fixture, kicking - off at 7pm local time and televised live - marks the association between the two clubs that was sealed last month, and which will see the stadium redeveloped and player movement.
Former United player Paul Shaw has been starring for Ferencvaros who have just resumed their campaign after the winter break, and another ex Blade Bobby Davison is advisory coach on United's behalf.
Despite relegation for not meeting stringent new financial criteria in 2006 - they had won the title just two seasons earlier - Ferencvaros is the country' most famous club and have produced a stream of International players and, more recently, some that have joined the English leagues.
Zoltan Gera at WBA and Plymouth's Halmosi and Timor all played for the 'The Green Eagles' who were founded in 1899 and went on to become the only Hungarian club to have played in the Champions League group phase back in 1995.
Ferencvaros won a televised league game last Friday night and are the small country's best supported club. Somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 fans are expected to watch the match in a stadium that was rebuilt in 1974 but is destined for a total rebuild at the end of this year.
Is Lucketti still with us, surprised he was not there.
