Fans are asked to arrive early for tonight's clash with Coventry City to pay their respects to former Chairman Derek Dooley who died last week.

There will be a one minute silence before the game, a wreath will be placed in the centre-circle beforehand, and both teams will wear black armbands.

Supporters wishing to sign the books of condolence in either reception can continue to do so this week.

However, to avoid overcrowding and disruption on matchnight this evening, the books will only be available in the Superstore after 5.30pm, and revert to the receptions on Wednesday morning.

I'm always there for the minutes silence, but tonight every Blade should be there for it, you have to pay your respects to such a great man.

I probably won't be, I'll be lucky to make kick off! Got Brownies before hand, and we're having a really big night with a special ceremony for ten of them, so it could be a long one (it'll teach me to look at the fixtures before I set a term plan)!

I hopefully going to be there, but I'm doing market research from 6 so it depends when it finishes. I'm also hoping to arrange my college break on Friday to get the City Hall for a bit.

I'll be paying my respects. I usually prefer a minute's applause, as it's less easy to ruin (although I can't imagine that any Blades would ruin the silence tonight), but whatever's been decided is good for me.

I'm sitting in the BLUT tonight, actually, so it'll probably be a full 90 minutes of silence!

I know this statement ;) Last season against Spurs I was on my feet blurting out some obsceneties and everyone was looking at me as if I'd shit in their bed.

If I were anywhere near Sheffield, that said anywhere in England, I would attend the minutes silence.... I used to be at the ground about 1 or 1 1/2 hourse before kick-off, although I still haven´t been to Bramall Lane yet. I think it´s time to do so once upone I´ve got the time.

According to SSN, the silence was impeccably observed and rightly so.

EDIT: Foxy says that GS was in tears when talking about Dooley during the pre-match tribute.

Aye, he was, you could tell right at the end he nearly burst out, can't say i blame him.

GS definitely was in tears, which just shows how well respected he is. Impeccable silence too, well done all blades and the team for getting a result for him:)

I thought something was up with his microphone at first, but then realised he was upset.

Well done to the Coventry fans too in the minutes silence:)

Thanks to Coventry City fans for respecting the minutes silence :)
GS had me in tears too, must have been hard for him.

Yes GS was struggling at the end

I also liked the fact that the backroom staff and subs all stood on the edge of the pitch
