Blades video appeal

I've got a recording of YTV's Goals of the Year programme from 1990. It's all the Yorkshire teams and everything is set to music. I still associate a lot of the songs used to the matches they were played alongside.

5-2 v Leicester and Bournemouth v Leeds - Back in the High Life - Steve Winwood (There's a point in that song where I can hear John Helm saying "Chapman! Lee Chapman for Leeds"
3-2 v Forest - Unbelievable - EMF
Pigs v Forest and Derby v Luton - Road to Hell - Chris Rea
Pigs v Oldham - We want the same thing - Belinda Carlisle

I even remember some of the captions on screen - Lineker scores at the Sty and it says something like "The beginning of the end for wednesday".

I bet I've not watched it for at least 10 years but I know where it is.

WalthamstowBlade - would you be interested in it even though it's not purely United?

Don't know where it is but I bet I've got the Goals on Sunday that CarlingBlade mentioned as well.

Thats the one with Steve Winwood etc, i always thought it was the Goals on Sunday program the day after.......the music makes the show, would love to see it again.

First three are with Norwegian commentators.


Have you got any of these already? Will be a while before I go back to my home town to collect them though.

I definitely had (but no longer have) a copy of that May 6 programme on video. It was great. All the goals from a brilliant day, post-match interviews with Bassett, Dooley and Booker followed by priceless footage of Wednesday fans crying in the stands at Hillsborough, a mournful-looking Ron Atkinson and, best of all, slow motion shots of the Forest goals going in to the strains of Roy Orbison singing "It's Over". I'll always love that song.
 



If it's any problem logistically... Anyone from Sheffield give me a shout and I'll sort it and take them in a more modern format to Walthy when next in London :)

But the piece de resistance is the tape of the programme on 5th May 1990 - where piggies cry and Blades prevail is ACE!
