Game Changers

Gillingham's goal just showed the difference between us and teams with a game changer in their line up. You can afford to soak up pressure if you have that one player you can rely on to add a bit of class and change the game.

Unfortunately we haven't had a real game changer in our ranks since Ched. Also unfortunately, they usually cost money, so I can't see us addressing the issue in January. It should be the top priority though.

We need someone who can create something from nothing.

I’d argue that Murphy and to some extent Blackman fell into that category. Trouble is they are sold as soon as they prove themselves to be game-changers or as it seems this summer, even sooner than that.

Or maybe I'm just making a point that someone who scores a goal is not necessarily a game changer as you say they are.

My view on the Blades is far from rose tinted, however I think if you went through our line up against Gillinghams there aren't many players you'd swap.

Like I said all teams need good players and goal scorers but I would hardly call Bradley Dack a game changer, if we could sign Messi on the other hand I may concede that he was one.

A fully fit Bradley Dack would walk into our team.

There’s also good arguments that Oshilaja, Morris, Jackson, JET and/ or McDonald could get in too. O’Hara and Konchesky have a wealth of experience at a higher level but not sure I’d pick them. All down to the subjective preferences of the selector of course.

Shows what a shit pond we are now fishing in, Gillinghams won't do much this season and their team apparently has players who would walk into ours. For the answer to O'Hara & Konchesky see Hammond and McEveley.

I agree about the last 2 which is why I said I wouldn't have them in. But they do have some good players and Dack has been one of the more sought after players in the division over the last 12 months. Unfortunately, as soon as our players become sought after, they are gone.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gillingham are in or around the playoffs this season.

The good thing about Dack is that as soon as his football career is over, he has a lucrative job lined up as a Leonardo Di Caprio lookalike, where he will come to your birthday party for 25 quid and walk around in a dinner suit, carrying a fake Oscar in one hand and a dry martini in the other, can't fault the lad for forward planning.......

Has anyone got any idea why Bradley Dack is still plying his trade in League 1 ? Have there been bids lodged for him that Gillingham rejected ? Or hasn't any other club bid for him ?

Just to add to the " discussion " , from what I saw on Sunday I don't think Dack is the kind of player CW would want in his team . Good free kick aside , and it was a decent strike , he was pretty much anonymous for the rest of the game . CW , quite clearly doesn't want that kind of application in and around his teams .

Yes. Gillingham turned down bids for him in the JTW as they were in a promotion position. Then he got a bad knee injury that he doesn't seem to have fully recovered from yet (he had an ice pack on it after he came off on Sunday). I guess no club wanted to take a risk paying a big fee for a potential crock during the last window.

That doesn't normally stop us, he must have been expensive as well or we'd have bought him crocked.

I think the injury is more serious than Gillingham make out , and could even be playing with pain killers . Bloke is a £2m rated player IMO , rateable value is in question due to injury .

As you say its if any club will take a risk on him which seems to be no.

He is a game changer and also perhaps classed as a luxury player . Main thing he is a entertainer which is great when expectations are not through the roof .

Is he in his comfort zone at Gillingham were he is top dog no idea .

Has the swagger and look of a 70s player . Would love him in a red and white shirt but cannot see it happening due to money , risk , can he manage 40 games plus , and tactical play .

It was rumoured Bristol City bid £2m for him so more chance of me pulling Sam Fox than us putting a realistic bid in for him.

Don't think any of us would pull her, doesn't she like ladies?

What, if I had two arseholes and a cock I'd stand a better chance of pulling a bi-sexual former page 3 girl? I'm no expert but I'm not convinced it would work.
Actually, thinking about it, two arseholes and a cock is the X Factor panel and Simon Cowell does OK.
