A good keeper

But.... if Long had parried that shot out for their goal he'd be getting slated.
We said exactly the same when in reality the defence just stood and watched while the 2 Oxford players followed it up. Moore looked far more confident and assured and something we've needed for a while now. He made the late free kick from gobshite ex pig Maguire look an easy save

didnt he fook up for the oxford goal?

100% keepers fault - should have pushed it wide.

Only possible saving grace was if it moved in the air, couldn't see from the South stand - perhaps someone on the kop wants to comment?

also - ball watching defenders as mentioned above.

and to add - the ball watching defenders which nearly led to Oxford going 2 nil up 2nd half, and NO one on our edge of box - ridiculous preparation in training for this to happen.

Arguably his fault but a culmination of errors not just his. He saved our bacon a couple of times, great save from the free kick and to hold it too.

Feel much more confident, but the defence still looks dodgy.

Heard it on here a while ago, that Sharp told someone in one them player/fan events (yes I know the bulls**t bells are clanging), that Long was s"it, if that's the mood of many in the squad the uncertainty and lack of confidence in the side is a major factor in the team bottling.

At the time I wasn't blaming the keeper. What on earth were the defence doing leaving the oxford forward line unmarked at a free kick? Just bad defending all round.

Thought the second half was excellent though. Good to get the atmosphere back at the Lane.

I blame the defence more than goalie. It was hard 30yd shot & the defence shouldnt been ball watching & shouldve anticipated the ball like their striker

As i said on match thread that no offence to Long, i liked him i feel Long kept us in more games than he cost us. But obviously we remember the mistakes more. But 1st impressions of Simon Moore seeing him live (as i didnt go to millwall as i didnt have a deathwish). I felt securer & have more confident with him in net with Moore in the 10 mins than i did with Long last few months

It was a hit hard and true and from my kop viewpoint (central) he may have seen it a little late?

I was sat right behind it I think he tried to palm it wide and it hit the bottom of his hand near the wrist and came straight back out, it was a powerful shot but he will be disappointed.

However he is a huge, huge, huge, huge improvement on florist Long.

Looked like he saw it late from where I was sat on the Kop. Looked like the ball had a bit of a penny-floater wobble on it as well, but I may be wrong it all happened so fast. I should know what to expect really!

Not a veiled "slag off long" thread. Yes he could have done better with the shot, but 95% of today was assured goalkeeping.

Need to see the goal again. Definitely more defending than it was keeping to blame but the replay could make it look much better or worse.

Other than that I can't judge him on today. Everything was pretty routine.

Early days yet, you've got to give him time to settle in, and you can't say Long didn't have plenty of that.............
All in all I thought he had a very good first home match and for me I doubt it will be long before he's getting that old Kop wellcome.......UTB

Just seen the goal again on Sky It put was a more powerful shot than I first thought but he ought to really have pushed it wide.

As long as he doesn't do it two or three times a month he's a step or three up at least from the last two incumbents.

Moore hasn't played many games in the last 7yrs cut the boy some slack! In boxing terms Ring rusty! If the defence stop the opposition shooting then the goalie Can clean up all the normal stuff! As peter schmeichel used to say! And he wasn't too bad a gk!

Quite right too - because he made a habit of it. Didn't you notice? Or are you in the "leave him alone he's only a kid" camp?

If so, just be glad that Wilder has seen ion Long what the mJority of us have seen.

Been impressed with him both games in his command, general handling and all around organisational skills. Defence is a few yards further out. But....it was still a mistake for the goal. If Long had done that he would have been getting hammered. It was poor; he has to push it away from goal. As i say big improvement on Long but was a definite error and we have to judge it same way whether it was him or Long.

As others have said there were errors in the lead up too. Poor midfield play; Coutts walked off from the lad and was asleep when he received it. BAsham tried to recover the error by going off his man but even he was too late. After it come off Moore; the defence was also asleep.

Pretty much every keeper (especially in this league) will parry a shot like that, he could have parried it away from goal yes but we are in the 3rd division, can't expect perfection.
The defenders should have been more alert and at least attempted to win the ball.

Exactly mate same here.

The proof of the pudding for me was that I didn't for one minute think that he was going to make a major rick like Long and Howard, and I came away with my finger nails intact.
