WIlder surely knows the left sided defence is a problem.Hopefully he gets it sorted out before the transfer window shuts

I want to see Hussey play higher up the pitch. His ability to give himself a yard and whip the ball in is really useful. His defending is errr... yes.

Hussey was awful, we were warned by Bury fans to be fair, although they said he had a good dead ball, not sure i've seen that yet.

sorry, he is a poor footballer.
Is exactly what he is, a free import from a very very average L1 football team.

You get exactly what you pay for - that is where we are.

Oxford lost the game, we didn't win it.

The result simply papers over the cracks.

How does playing excellent 2nd half paper over the cracks? We won a game of football deservedly, actually looked threatening, scored 2 goals and defended properly. Hopefully, this will be a sign of things to come.

no problems with your opinion.

yes, we played better than the pathetic drivel offered in the first half.

Still papers over the cracks IMHO.

PS: I've moved to the slasher camp from the clapper camp btw.

He's no better than Wallace at all.

JOC class today especially considering he's a cb by trade.

1st half could have been better. First 20 minutes we were poor but improved as the half went on. Should have really gone in HT level.

I've also made the transition I think, it's a better vibe over here ;)

Yep, some truth in that - certainly better than Southend.

Oxford still out played us for periods.

I came out thankful for the result - sometimes that is more important.

Glad to see our goalkeeping coach has started to ruin another goalkeeper.

I was going to ask about Hussey and his half time substitution. As I said in another thread, I saw him a few times at Wimbledon and, IMO, is not a professional footballer. He has an educated left foot, admittedly but he is too slow of thought and deed. There are hundreds of footballers on Hackney Marshes on a Sunday who have educated feet and can play a great dead ball, but will never be good enough for a higher level. As I said before as well, his gait and general body shape when playing, just don't say footballer to me. Even if I'm wrong about all that, he is definitely not a player good enough to help us get promoted.

His set piece delivery was poor and I wouldn't be surprised if he were pulled on this at half time. Early season hype seems to have been hyperbole because he is yet to show that quality in the games I have seen. It's early days though, a completely new back 5 will take time to form an understanding and in my opinion all of them had shaky spells today but (hussey aside) they all improved as the game went on.

I don't think Oxford outplayed us at all. After the first 20mins there was only us in the game. We just needed that last piece of quality in the final third. Oxford looked a little dangerous on the odd set piece only because we didn't organise well enough in the first place. They didn't dominate possession or pass us to death. They didn't bombard us with shots. We got a foot in many a time in midfield and broke up their play. We looked solid at the back unlike Oxford who's number 33 was terrible. I really don't understand your view on the game. You say you are thankful for the result as if we didn't really deserve it. Please elaborate.

I was presuming at half time that Hussey must have taken a knock

know where you're coming from. He's very flat footed and gets caught square a lot.

O'Connell was a big improvement but won't write Hussey off - he's clearly got something about him but when we need to get points on the board I'm more inclined to play someone who's better defensively.

I'd tell him to find a new club and bring in a replacement already, doesn't seem to know how to defend and his delivery is appalling. Makes me long for the days of Marcus Williams and Matt hill

People say he has a great left peg, but based on today, he couldn't even win a "best left foot in Chris hussey's boots" competition, absolutely dire
