To the piggery..... Done deal?...

Nice of them to give us some money isn't it :)

Used to go to college with his bird, and he is/was a nailed on Blade. Be interesting to see, if this is the case, what the player decides to do.

Should Warnock have kept him is the question everyone asks.

After the start we have made I think he made the right decision.

The lad wanted first team football.

If we now get a windfall to put in the pot, so be it.

Sturrock is touting every league one and two top scorer to add to his almighty attack  so it's bound to crop up somewhere, it's like half of our team is due to leave in the transfer window because we are doing so well.

Sharpey will never to to Swillsborough, the only way I can see him going would be on purpose so he can play crap and send the Pigs to relegation, and that's something I can't see happening. :p

yea where di you hear this i haven't seen anything. Or throught the grape vine?

Billy sharp to ******day we wish

******day sign a striker you must be having a laugh

*I HOPE WE DO SIGN HIM THOUGH*

sturrock is going for the lower league top scorers, but they arnt exactly proven as scorers in this league.

I suppose but i think trundle and players like him and tyson might be able to make the jump. They look convincing

Billy sharp will be at a top team in jan, he played well against blackpool he score two and looked 2 class to play for scunny.

Don't know if there's any clause regarding first refusal on a buy-back, but I can't help thinking he'd do really well in the Championship and may well punish us at some point!

When was the last time a 19 year old got 14 goals in 14 starts? He just looks so comfortable scoring goals - a natural if ever I've seen one.

I know, how many of our players did we loan out, and not one of them is performing like he is??

Questions need to be asked as to why he got sold, why didn't he go on a season long loan with a view to a permanent move at the end of the season? That way we would satill have this guy on our books!!

Because he didn't want a loan move, he didn't want a contract without first team games and scunny offered him exactly that. Our hands were pretty much tied other than dropping kabba/webber/ships/ for him.

Yes, completely understand selling him, but surely when our season was dead and buried last summer with a few games left, why didn't we test him?

Thing is, as good as he is at the mo, if he came back and started in front of Webber n Kabba, we'd all be screaming our heads off at Warnock!!

I just hope he does well, always good to see an ex Blade do well, but not on Saturday!! ;)

I know what you're saying, but if we'd just have tested him, he'd maybe have popped up with a couple of goals, and at the very least he'd have commanded a bigger valuation.

Yes, and I'm sure Hayles would love to stick one in and taunt Warnock! Be good to see 'Sarbs though!

i'm not being funny, but there was no desperate need to test him in that way. Would have been nice to have given him a few games but that wasn't to be.

Warnock and the club wanted to keep him, hense offering him a contract. Therefore they must have thought he was worth it. Warnock and his staff saw Billy day in day out of his time with the Blades, Warnock will have 7/8 people at least all giving him advice regarding him, therefore I think they are qualified enough to decide their opinion without having to field players for our viewing.

Warnock would have prefered to sign him and loan him out for 1st team games and experience as he is with others at the moment.

Billy didn't want this and chose to go to Scunny for guarenteed first team football. Playing a few times in end of season games would hardly bump his price up all that much I don't think, and at that stage the club were hoping he'd be signing another contract.

Ian Ross got player of the month for boston dint he?

I'm only suggesting it would've been in our best interests, surely, to see how he faired in the first team.

Couldn't disagree more. If they were just shipping him out, fair enough - but if they wanted him to progress into the first team, there's only one way of finding out if he was good enough - and it's not having a panel of 7/8 people "decide their opinion".

I know what your saying, but if the last few games a season is so unimportant that we should try youngsters, then its hardly giving them proper first team experience due to other clubs being in the same position.

These 7/8 people are highly experienced in what they do, they do it for a living and see the players on a daily basis and know everything about them. All i'm saying is, its not as simple as 1 person just deciding to ship him out (far from it, they tried to keep him).
