I think it's time...

... for the fans to buy out McCabe and take control of our club.

Once bought nominate a leader, who sets up a board.

Give the fans a voice, take back the club and get out this sodding league.

As the thread maker of the "One armed fan" said it's not bad luck, it's bad choices, let's end them, surely the fans know what's best for the club?

It's obviously not gonna get fixed by changing the manager, we tried every option under the sun, time to change the structure of the club.

Charles Clegg is probably rolling in his grave seeing what is going on, it's only getting worse.

It's time people, check the back of the sofa for money and take your club back.

It time.....

Unless Sean Bean and a few other very wealthy fans fancy getting on board, it could never happen. Also, I disagree that the fans know what's best for the club. Many of McCabe's failings have been a result of listening to the most vociferous, fickle, knee-jerk supporters amongst us. It needs somebody more measured who actually has some clue as to how to run a football club.
Fuck Sean Bean he was a major factor in the start of our current plight I'd rather have Mr fuckin Bean.

Things can always get better or worse. I wrote on another thread yesterday a summary of what i think they've done.

"Game...wibble...changing...wobble...investment...wibble"

I think now, from an ownership point of view we're not in a bad place, managerial, i think we've got the right man for right now. On the pitch, we've a long way to go, but i think it will improve.

Pfft...Flounce or GTFO

Yep. I remember sitting with him in the Handsworth Club when he said "i fully endorse Colins decision to sign three for the future rather than ensure our PL place with someone good for now. It's only three million and it will help him out as well"
As he so often says in his Sharpe role "bastard".

For all Colin's (as you refer to him) faults there's no way we would be in this mess had he not got the bullet no way. We would have had promotion back to the PL before the parachute payments finished had he stayed,I have no doubt about it. As for was he a good enough manager for the PL I'm undecided he very nearly kept us up,on the other hand some of his signings and tactics were a little (putting it kindly) questionable. As for Mr Bean and everyone else that was calling for his head can you now all see how wrong it actually was as Sharpe says "bastards"o_O

Agree that Warnock May well have done a better job of getting us back up. But things did need to change....and still do regarding style of play.
The idea to replace Warnock was a good one, he'd been there a while, got his well earned chance and blew it.
The problem was not the idea, it was the execution of the plan.

That season following relegation was the time to employ a foreign manager, or at least one with a proven reputation for playing good football. We employed Bryan fucking Robson...followed by Kevin Blackwell!!! It's been downhill rapidly since then.
If we had stuck with him, we would have had to try and change at some point, but granted it may well have turned out far better a year or so later.

Don't think we have any style of play at the minute it's more roll over an die. I think to replace Warnock when they did was utter lunacy, to sack a manager who knew how to get promotion with the team he built was one of the worst footballing decisions I have ever known. If a change of manager was needed should have been done once we returned to the PL or better still after we were an established lower end PL team, then the style of play could be addressed with better quality players having got a budget to sign them. Sort of like Stoke have done I know fukin Stoke but that's the nearest example of what I'd have liked to happen I can think of. Bryan Fukin Robson I'll not even bother other than it totally compounded the terrible decision to sack Neil, which for me was the start of our current demise.

You are spot on.
Colin would have taken us back up on the parachute payments and the wave of support over Tevez.
Then we'd have been in precisely the position of Stoke City , just needing to hang in there for a couple of years to become established.
I hope McCabe looks every day at Stoke's recent history and thinks about what might have been.
I know I do.
But it ought to wrankle more with McCabe , because he would have made untold riches and made himself and his club part of the global football world.
So why won't he throw some money at it now ? The ambition ought to burn inside him.
What's the point of keeping all his money in his pocket and ruing his bad luck ?
Just man-up Kevin and speculate to accumulate.
A business that's not going forwards is going backwards.
You can't just play at it.

It has been said in here many times.... we didn't sack Warnock. His contract had expired

Blackwell is our most successful manager since we sacked (sorry refused to renew the contract of) Warnock

Sorry mate....with what he had at his disposal player wise anyone could have achieved what he did. Terrible manager, terrible tactics, terrible treatment of young players and all round arsehole. Talk to players from that time...read Books of ex players.

Besides, what did he actually achieve? Play off final defeat.
Both Wilson and Clough won more games, and Clough had two very lucrative cup runs in there too without the luxury of players like Walker, Naughton, Beattie.

Blackwell was the start of all this, he dismantled the club and replaced players with no real plan. No surprise he's failed everywhere he's been.

Think it was Keith Gillespie that was pretty damning of Blackwell in his book?

Lots of fans like Sean Bean, Joe Elliott etc are wealthy
But that doesn't mean that they have the business nous to run the club
The advisers that manage their money would be strongly recommending that they do not get involved if they were even thinking about it

Besides that, their not that wealthy, just buying this club would cost them more than what they are worth without any further investment

You need a football crazy billionaire nowadays to get a club to the Premier league and keep them there
I have no problem with foreign owners, some of them are not so good but you could say that about anybody

The clubs that succeed in this country are owned by foreigners and have a cosmopolitan set up right the way through the club
