Wilders comments today

Struggling to cope with expectations? All footballers have expectation heaped on them week in, week out, it doesn't matter who you play for. We as fans, expect. If you can't handle the expectation of playing for a League 1 club, because that's what we are, then you shouldn't be a footballer. Personally, If i were a footballer I would relish playing in front of a big crowd every couple of weeks, it's one of the reasons you become a footballer; to be adored. I would have hoped Wilder would have had some inkling into the mental strength of his signings, prior to bringing them here.

I don't get the expectation comments. We aren't ogres... we aren't expecting to win every single game 3 and 4 nil.

And will back the side if they give us something to shout about. So far they just haven't done that. Most people would have taken an improvement on last year and some pride in performances, it can't be that hard!!

You've got to laugh or you'd cry.

Next week in The Star will be articles saying

Wilder is working hard in training, going back to basics etc.

Players coming out with "it's not been good enough but the quality is there"

And then the nail in the coffin

"We're to good to be in a relegation scrap"

We have

A shit chairman
A shit manager
A shit squad

It seems to me that when you need a manager to show a pair of bollocks he's choosing not to. Then again, can he afford to go in all guns blazing when this might be all he has to work with, meaning that he doesn't want to upset any of the twats? Either way, we are well and truly fucked. :(

I for one don't knock his approach - he's straight talking and considered, if we stick with him, that approach will do us good.
Agree we have to stick with him but the worry I have now is his straight talking. He's done that much tough talk the talk he might feel the players are now making him look stupid and vent it too much on them. If he really loses the dressing room now we are screwed.

Just heard the interview on radio Sheffield. He sounds like a broken man already.

Feel for him cause he is clearly in shock at just how bad it's going.

I think his tactics have been poor and we aren't getting the best out of the players available but the fact remains we've a back 4 that simply can't defend. I don't know how you legislate for that as a manager

In summary he can't take the heat and bottled it. Reyt new leader, he'll walk before end of September.
Avoiding the confrontation in his position is not the answer, a more Warnockesque reaction was required but maybe Wilder doesn't have it in him.

Sadly its not the main reason why they become footballers.

Not spoken to the players after the game? Didn't want to go "steaming in"? Fuck me. What's up with Wilder? He's either clueless or spineless.
Warnock did that once. Didn't leave it till Monday though he made them come in Sunday, told them they'd fucked his weekend up so he thought he would fuck theirs up, then walked out again.

From the outside it seems that there's a worrying lack of bollox from everyone at this club! What the fuck is going on?! Is there a plan or are we just lurching from one catastrophe to another?!

I predict a Weir meltdown followed by an Adams #2.
A manager has to be strong, credible, inspire loyalty and belief and have a degree of ability.

Not seen much of owt so far.
