Driving home from the match last night me and my dad were chuntering away about the game against Shrewsbury last season and laughing at us saying 'it can't get worst than this'....well it did and then we saw Nigel Adkins and his Mrs taking a late night stroll by the side of Endcliffe Park. Wonder if he knew the result. Anyway he looked dressed up and happy with his redundancy package. Surely it can't get any worst.

the manager we had before that had a pretty good evening as well.

Adkins right manager, wrong time.

Although I am thinking no manager will succeed while McCabe is still at the helm. As much as I don't like Warnock, one thing is for sure he managed to get what he needed off McCabe to succeed even if there was next to no money available.

that was it , told McCabe he could take the club no further than championship top 10, and got him to put his hand in his pocket. Didn't take that much for him to get us promoted really either, couple of million?

Warnock had and spent money that our last 3 managers could only dream of.

Exactly, only downside is Warnock started going over the top with his striker recruitment but true it did get us promoted.

It's far too early to say that those not ecstatic about changing the manager again at the end of last season were on something.

It's almost like we're not run very well.

Hopefully we'll turn this around though.

Adkins was a useless chump. Consigned to history, thank Christ.

A useless chump that can get teams promoted but as we are seeing with Wilder, the useless chumps are at board level and have been for sometime.

Technical board or really just shuffling the deckchairs on the titanic?

Things will turn around for us when McCabe goes and sells out to someone serious about running a football club.

So let me get this picture right, you were in a car, at the steering wheel, you saw Adkin's on the pavement, walking, aaannnndddddd?

I've not seen a itching on the news or in the Stir

I said after Adkins was sacked, that Wilder will leave the club in the same way. And again and again for the next people. The Managers haven't been the problem for a long time, eventually people will understand that.

The suggestion being that, if there are problems at boardroom/chairman level, the manager failing to succeed is inevitably a fantastic manager who'd succeed brilliantly if he weren't stymied.

You play with the cards you're dealt. There is no perfect/ideal gig in football.

Wilder's already been far more proactive in a couple of months than Adkins was throughout his tenure. Tbh, it was as if Adkins just gave up & ran on autopilot.

Whatever the problems at higher levels (& there most definitely are problems), Adkins was an embarrassment

But he had Derek Dooley in his corner. The managers nowadays are on a hiding to nothing.

Yet here WE are. Again.

Different manager, same results.

(So far).

The "so far" qualification you make is a significant one. Let's see how things pan out over the next few weeks.

I get the impression Wilder's a fighter, not a passive victim. But let's see.

That yesterday was worse than anything I saw last season.

Yesterday was appalling. So was Saturday.

And there were countless examples from last season of shocking performances, including both the first and last games of the season.

We're three games into Wilder's reign. He recognises there are (deep-seated) problems. Let's see if he can develop an upward trajectory through the season in a way that Adkins failed so miserably to do.

Too much similar water, under the similar bridges.

Forgetting and forgiving?

Losing heart on that score.

Tend to agree, the argument seems to be that this manager is better because (despite having a worse start) he's bound to have a better season that Adkins or Clough. I hope so, but I don't believe in blind faith and would like to see some evidence.

Lets get him back then, WHF has been out of a job since Adkins left

A bit like Clough, and that worked well.

If mccabe had gone a couple of months ago and the new owner brought in Wilder people would be happy with the new chairmans choice, after three games who's fault would it be, ah mccabes I suspect.
