Another manager starting to talk in clichés cause there was no substance to discuss. After the "we have a point" and " springboards" all that lacked were a flock of geese

I heard the words "Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday." if he had followed it up the phrase "Endeavour" then I would have thought it was Adkins speaking.

Chris, now I really like you and was happy when you signed, thought you sounded like you really were itk but what you have to realise is, you're the fucking manager. The gaffer, the bloke who can make things happen.

You say the right things, you see the faults we see but you can do something about it. Bang on that fucking chimp McCabe's door, storm in to his office and don't leave till the snidy bastard agrees to help rather than hinder. Give him the list of first choices and go out and get 'em otherwise come Christmas you'll be the next one brushing his CV up because we're still shite.

If you're the Blade you profess to be, if you have the bollocks we think you have then sort it out. I admire your honesty, that's not going to win football matches unfortunately.

Do you really think chairman spend more money when the managers jump up and down?

Even if they don't, if it makes the snipe nosed bastard uncomfortable it'll be fine by me. Alternatively Wilder could do nothing about it, just keep bemoaning our sorry state to the masses despite the fact he's the manager.

Not sure why we're after a cover left back given the number of other positions needing strengthening. We should just use Graham Kelly and Kieran Wallace for that, even Freeman if he's going to be staying around the squad. If we get another centre half O'Connell could even play there.

From what Wilder's said we're after another five players, not another four... but watch us just get the cover left back and the striker.

I'll not be doing this every week like the great WHF himself but as I'm sat at home nursing an upset stomach I thought i'd give the bullet points of Wilders interview today

Not as good a performance as the last two

Started off very well again then it became much more even

Their shape meant that they had more of the ball and we never got it out wide quic enough

The goal changed the atmosphere of the ground

Had to dig ourself out of a hole and the fact they did gives us belief

Sure the players will play better than today

The fans tried to raise the team even before our goal

Have to start somewhere and we have got a point

Long will be disappointed as will everyone else. It was a routine save. It's how he reacts now

It's hard to get on the training ground as it's Saturday-Tuesday but that's our own fault for taking the Crewe game into extra time

It's not the way we want to play but we dug a result out and we have to make sure we use this as a springboard to get 3 points on Tuesday

Sharp came alive after he scored and became the player we expect

It's very, very early in the season and we have played well. The goalkeeper hasn't had to make save after save.

Today was the first time we haven't played positively and you have to show character which the players did.

The quality wasn't as good as it should be to win the game after the equalizer

People know about Sharp, Clarke, Duffy and Done and how they have undoubted quality. It's about picking the final pass out and the final run

We have to do so much better in attacking positions

Chapman hasn't trained with the club yet. He's a player who will excite. Both subs gave us a lift

I will be pro active with subs. I won't wait and wait

Says the group isn't where he wants it to be but they are working hard to get players in.

Felt the team had pride but without the quality today

Refuses to comment on interest in Grant, Lavery, Morsy

Wants an experienced keeper

We don't have fierce competition for players at the moment

Need ability out wide and pace at the top of the pitch . Want somebody to really stretch the game. Hopefully have someone in by Tuesday or next week sometime

We are after a centre back, a cover left back, a goalkeeper, a midfielder and a striker with pace

Love your posts Roy top man

Glad he wants an experienced keeper now after stating that he didn't need to sign one. ffs.

First time I've heard him mention being after a striker with pace (Lavary?)
Whats is the point in going for another striker, we have plenty already. Sharp/ Clark/ Done/ McNulty/ DCL...
We need to sort out the midfield area still, not creating enough chances and not controlling the game well enough.

Christ on a bike 2 games in and he realises we`re still 4/5 good players short.
WTF has he been watching since he got here to just work that fucker out.

Think he probably already knew that but the tight fukas that call themselves the board had pulled the shutters down til Che was sacrificed. I think by the way he purposely keeps mentioning his 'thanks' for the backing hes had implies that he is just grateful for anything from them and they are (predictably !) always prepared to tell him he cant have any more. Its a bit of blowing sunshine up their arses to try and keep the board sweet.

I think Chris has squeezed out what he can from the budget pre Che sale and been fairly cute with his incomings. Where i cant for the life of me work out what he was thinking was his previous decision to stick with George as number 1 from the start of the season. Everyone knew that was gunna bite us on the arse. Fortunately it seems he has seen that this was a mistake and hes looking to sort it pronto. Fair play to Chris for seeing that this was a mistake and trying to rectify it now.

The Long scenario has baffled me for over a season. Of all the positions you absolutely get the very best you can possibly afford it`s the keeper and we`ve settled for 5th rate. As I`ve posted elsewhere, how 3 managers haven`t seen the huge lack of ability in our goalkeeper makes me wonder what he or his mum have on the board.

Agree. It is baffling. Maybe Mummy Long is a Mafia hit woman or may they have film footage of the board having a swap the car keys type party complete with party girls and sherbert on the table!

Goalkeeper is the pivotol position in all football teams as a decent one can go a long way to winning a game whereas a piss poor one will lose you it no matter how good the rest of your team are. I lost count of the times Kelly or Tracey virtually won us a game by their own heroics. Im.hoping there is truth in Grant coming as he should be a top keeper for this level and the confidence the rest of the team would get from having a decent keeper behind them would be like us starting on a level playing field rather than them shitting bricks from the kick off and waiting for the first bollock to be dropped.

I believe the protracted contract negotiations were because Adkins had offered him a very lucrative contract and Wilder persuaded him to drop to a much lower wage. I would assume that was along with him being promised to be the number 1. Hence the sudden decision to not sign another keeper in pre-season.

Not sure that there would have been any 'promise' made to George. I believe the delay was simply down to CW renegotiating and lowering the original deal that Madkins had offered George. George's agent was putting feelers out to other clubs but there were no takers and in the end Utd's offer was still the best /only realistic offer on the table for him to choose. I bet George wishes he had signed the original Madkins contract offer now but i have no sympathy. He was offered well over his worth by the dozy Madkins and he chose not to sign it even when the contract remained on the table for weeks ready for him to sign. Georges agent chose to play the field and in the end it backfired for him. Bet George and his agent had some choice words between em!

Bet George`s mum and his agent had some. George ain`t assertive enough and his communication skills are sadly lacking.

"Started well"???? He must thinks coming out of the tunnel in order as a good start

By publicly stating what positions he wants to fill he's put pressure on the board to sign the players. We know what he wants and if we don't get the players in it will be obvious who's fault it is.

Not sure what else he can say really?

I'm not sure the board will be 100% to blame. We are two games in and Wilder has stated what we all know, he needs 4 more players. This is poor squad building to say the least.

Should have got them in the summer, Chris. Why didn't you?

Given the events of the last couple of weeks I'd say it's because the board insisted we cashed in on Adams before we signed anyone else.
