Early in the game he burst forward and was sandwiched out, went down, ref blew and appeared to book Fleck but gave us a free kick. Didn't see ant dive or retaliation but it was far side of pitch from me. Anyone get a clearer view?

It was for the high follow through on the defender after he was pushed over by another Rochdale player.

Yes he got fouled and his momentum seemed to take him into another Rochdale player after the foul by their man. It was a bizarre decision really.
As was the lack of a penalty when Clarke was held back

Agreed, that was absolutely blatant, Magahey had him in a bear hug, but strangely neither the linesman or referee noticed?

While we're on the subject of officials, what really boils my piss are the linesman who flag after the forward has received a speculative 'pass' from our back four and run half a dozen steps with the ball?
Surely he must be offside when the ball is initially hoofed played over the top, so flag the second he receives it, you useless twats

I can honestly say I've never known a player to get booked, yet his team wins the free-kick.

yes, me too - but my view in South stand was excellent and thought the ref probably got it right.

Fleck was fouled and then before the ref could blow for a foul, followed through on another Rochdale player. He dived in and went off his feet.

For all the fans who want an explanation then I assume you DID NOT watch the Euros?

Quite obvious - go off your feet with studs showing and you will be booked.

As usual with this, I just hope refs are consistent.

One thing is for sure, if Fleck does not learn his lesson quickly, he'll be the first sending off. Sadly, his type of aggression has been nullified by these rules.

He petulantly kicked out as he was falling. Ref got it correct. Our free kick for the push. Fleck booking for blatantly kicking an opponent.

Arnautovic got booked for Stoke yesterday too. Either for mouthing or grabbing the ball as he fell. Referees are clamping down on this sort of stuff this year.

I only watched the England games, so it probably doesn't count.
