Only like Buyrton going up isn't that what I just said
if Id picked 6 different numbers I might have won that 61 million on the lottery

the odds of that are 40 million to one the odds of us getting promoted year upon year are considerably shorter

footballs a results business

with maguire 67 points 7th
without him 71 points 5th

its a team game, one player left
we improved

not blaming him saying he was bad loved the lad . but we coped

all players can be replaced
not by an individual at times but a more balanced team
alone no one came close , but we covered his loss

You obviously don't pay that much attention to the movement of players, do you? Brayford is a Blade, he'll continue to be a Blade as long as Wilder wants him at the club. Should the manager have a change of mind I imagine we'd all know who leaves and who stays. Hope that clears up any confusion on your part.

I haven't paid that much attention over the last 2 weeks no, while I've been in the Dominican, but hey, what can I say I like the sun. It was a genuine question after seeing a lot of rumours.

Barney Barney Barney. Mi owd Barney Curtis the armchair whatever. What is this new madness of an avatar? Bring back the skunk and tom toms please. I do not understand this bondage stuff. Rabbits at variable speed are my type of thing. I cannot take this new cutting edge Barney seriously as a footballistically sorted poster. Also I thought it was Maxter the Muppet that started the "where you heard this pal?" I hope it was you though.
I started the joke. The joke was about Maxster.

Where've I heard that pal?...

again with maguire 7th
season after 5th and a play off chance

now when I was a lad thats an improvement

You seem to be completely ignoring the near universal view that given how we finished Clough's first incomplete season, that finish in 5th the following year was extremely disappointing. There was no Wolves equivalent that year – we should have had a strong go at the automatic places in what was a poorer league. We never did.

You also need to remember the knock-on repercussions. Collins, who had developed an effective partnership, was never as reliable again. The distribution from the back, which you mention earlier, was visibly poorer.

You can assign blame to Clough and/or the board for not adequately replacing Maguire. But to suggest we weren't worse without Maguire defies all logic. We were, which is why we had to try all sorts of varieties at back throughout the season in a desperate search to get a settled partnership.

Appreciate your fondness for the sun, but as I was unaware of your whereabouts it wasn't my obligation to know where you'd written from.

but surely

we all think any year when we dont finish in the top 2 its very disappointing

didnt sell maguire every year

its never down to one player
its a team game

then ABSOLUTELY NO ACTION WAS TAKEN BY ADKINS
in any way to improve the team

Dan Burn?

Ryan Kent?

Who knows how many more?

Adkins only put the names to those above him. It was them who didn’t sign the players. Even if they did, it’s unlikely they’d attract quality like Murphy, Blackman and Maguire as such players are courted by championship clubs.

all figures look better when remove any bad results
why not filter out all the games we didnt win to make Maguire look immense

ask the questtion

was Maguire in the team that started catastrophically ,
if the answer is yes , he was part of the bad run and it HAS to be taken for what it was
selectively massaging results we could make Hammond look good

Except everybody of sound mind can see the Weir reign was an anomaly. Sometimes you have to ask yourself why you’re in a minority of one. Compare how we were playing in the 2nd half of that season to the following season and you see a significant downturn in performance. The Weir to Clough change saw us improve. Not the sale of Maguire. Only an idiot would argue otherwise.

sale of best players , one player
any team any manager should be capable to cover selling ONE player
what if Murphy had broken his leg

and we had the same players less murphy
Adkins did fuck all to improve what we had
he is the sole reason the season was such a catastrophe
not selling one player

failure to invest
well you can argue that if any manager doesnt bring in any players
BUT
CW has demonstrated how easy it is to add to a squad

Adkins was a fucking disaster
worse than Weir was as ihe was supposed to have a clue
something he clearly didnt have

You’ve had it explained to you several times why everything you’ve said in this post is utter bollocks but I’ll do it one more time.

1. The team from 14/15 wasn’t good enough. It just limped into the playoffs due to a generous points spread.

2. The best 2 players of that team were Brayford and Murphy. Brayford’s injury and Murphys’s sale meant we lacked quality massively.

3. We didn’t just lose those 2 though. We also had to replace S. Davies, J. Holt, B. Davies, I. Turner, M. Doyle etc.

4. The team Adkins inherited was assembled by Clough to play his brand of football and to respond to his management style. If we weren’t going to back Adkins to overhaul the squad in his own image or give him the following summer to do so when contracts expired, it was completely pointless sacking Clough.

5. The Wilder comparison is nonsense. Adkins trimmed the wage bill where he could and Wilder came in and was straight away able to dump 10 players off the wage bill and rebuild. Of course he could bring players in. If you can’t recognise the difference in circumstances or think there was a “sole” reason for our failure then you are incredibly stupid.

This is the last time I’ll spoon feed you all of this so please try to take it in this time and stop spouting the same shit over and over again.

the weir reign was an anomaly
so wed never lost games in a row before
last season was an anomaly then in reverse
we went from top 2 in september to 11th
again down to the manager

fact is maguire played in the games so they count as much as those we won
its how football works

You really are by some distance the most moronic poster on this forum. Holt played quite a bit in the first team and then left. Hence a member fo the sqaud that was absent from the one that finished 5th. You just make shit up and misrepresent facts to paint the picture you want. Every single poster has pointed out just how ridiculous you are yet you become more entrenched.

ps. I didn't say the club "stopped" them coming in. I said they didn't sign the players Adkins identified. You lied and said he identified none despite a couple being public knowledge.

p.s. I'm not miserable either. Nor am I a full time whinger. I offer praise when it's warranted and criticism when it's warranted. I just don't subscribe to your north korea nonsense of pretending we're doing everything right whilst remaining in this league for 6 years.

I could never be the most moronic whilst your typing
I make shit up

good one
I post a seasons actual final placings
and you want to massage them to bolster your point

the final table doesnt lie
is a well known football cliche
but you want to be huber selective about which bits count

what bit did I make up

did we finish 7th with maguire
a straight yes or no
year after we finished 5th

YES OR NO

which bit am I making up

I never said he hadnt identified anyone
I said he never said signed anyone till we got baptiste when it was beyond saving
the man was incompetent in the extreme
I could have identified Rushford at man utd looks a good prospect
doesnt mean hes signing for us

Adkins got no one to sign , which is all I ever put
identification of targets is meaningless till they have signed

which bit am I making up

You're constantly making up things that people have said despite them saying nothing of the sort. If you want to labour on the finishing positions, we also finished 3rd with Maguire on 90 points.

You're claiming that finishing 2 places higher (7th to 5th) is down to the sale of our star player and not down to a period of being managed by the worst manager in our history (statistically) whilst also completely rebuilding the squad signing 20 odd players yet you claim dropping from 5th to 11th had nothing to do with the sale of a star player and everything to do with a manager despite very little inward movement on players. You couldn't make it up, well, unless you were a little bit special.

You should be able to argue your point well enough that that becomes clear to anyone following without the need to use things like that. As I always do.

I agree in principle but it becomes tiresome when you clearly explain your point and folk wilfully misinterpret and pretend you've said something entirely different. Anyone who genuinely believes the sale of Maguire made us stronger is beyond reasoning with.

I haven't even read what you were arguing about but if he thinks that he's either on the wind up or he needs to go down the doc for some medication.

I never said he hadnt identified anyone

You said he took absolutely no action. His role is to identify players to the board and others were in charge of getting them to sign. If he took no action, you are implicitly saying he identified nobody.

Try to get your nonsense stories in order before you post.

Agreed. Hence I gave up trying to explain why it was nonsense.
