I'd like us to see an old 'keeper with loads of experience. One of the only times I'd like us to sign someone on the way down as I think such a signing would both provide competition for George but also bring on all our young goalkeepers. Someone like Mark Schwarzer maybe but don't think he'd drop to this level.

Byrne and Doyle (I assume you mean Doyle) were very good performers at this level and earned moves to the Championship where they are squad players. Anyone would think by your description that they had Lee Morris style falls from grace.

Changed my user name but kept my avatar. I'm not hiding, my user name on BM was shit because I was pissed when I first registered and made up some nonsense thinking it was just my log-in. I was new to forums.

I think he may well change his mind if he's told he can leave, and of course having Paul Mitchell at the Lane will give us a better chance as Mitchell could be in his ear about the move etc. I still think there's a chance however small it is! Maybe we'll know tonight after another interview with Wilder post Handsworth.

I think the point is that if you choose to marginalise an entire group of people as “dickheads” despite the vast variety in the personalities included, that probably makes you a dickhead as it says a lot about your thought process.

I agree that this site is far better in terms of functionality. I'd even agree there were a fair few dickheads on blades mad. I just fundamentally disagree with tarring everyone with the same brush based on which site they were one.

Main difference I found between BM and S2 is that when I started posting on BM no one replied to any of my comments etc, it was like it was an in-house club of posters that had been posting for years. I found at S2 that immediately other posters were responding so you actually though people were interested in what you had to say etc. I left BM in the end, not because of the above, because I had made more posts by then, but more because of the adverts and people were deserting the site, so it was a no brainer to come here to be honest!

Tbf, if you went on BM at certain times it could be absolute shite. Full of stupid fucking point scoring arguments that went on for pages.

It's easy to see why on first glance at certain times some people would see Bladesmad as a place over run with 'dickheads' - and there was a fair share, but the reality is that there were a lot of quality posters on there and it was for quite a long time by far and away the busiest, most popular Blades forum - and I'm in a better position than most to comment.

This site beats it hands down in terms of usability though, and always has I suppose. The only thing Footymad had over it from that point of view was that it was a wider network where you could go onto other club's boards, but since they shot themselves in the foot that benefit has disappeared because nobody uses it anymore - there are only a small handful of boards that still get traffic. There's no way back for Bladesmad now, this site is now far too established, it's like our Owlstalk. And good riddance, I'm glad Footymad will no longer be able to make a profit.
