Kyle McFadzean

He sounds like someone trying to get the best deal for his club to be honest. I'm not sure what approach he's supposed to take?
I just think it would be refreshing to hear a manager treat a player like a human being rather than a commodity. Why hasn't he spoken to the player?

So with O'Connell signing is the Mcfadzean deal now dead? Wilder said he would not be messed about and would move on to other targets. Do we think he has done that? Or is the O'Connell deal, as well as Mcfadzean? Really hope it is the latter.

Dropping I think we are still after Macfadzean however the message to MK now clearly is we aren't desperate anymore, we've signed 2 centre backs and if we don't get Macfadzean so what. In the meantime you will be left with a very unhappy player on your books who you are paying for doing nothing !

I think it's highly unlikely that Wilder will go without a right footed centre half.

So we'll still be after McFadzean. It's also obvious that he's a primary target. It's July 8th, we won't have given up on him yet. If we don't get him though, we'll sign another right footed centre half.

I'd guess Grandison would be the second choice right sided Centre Back behind McFadzean

I'm surprised Robinson has shown his cards so early.

If he regards him so highly, then 500k isn't a prohibitive or hands off type figure to be fair. It's one that says "make me an offer, a deal can be done".

Without any comment from United he's soon moved from "not selling to a rival" very quickly.

I'd be very surprised if they turned down 400k given he's already thrown 500k out there. If Kyle shows the relationship is broken, then accepting 350k, 300k or even 250k doesn't seem too far off.

From Wilder's side he can play it relatively cool now. He has at least 2 senior centre halves to play the warm up games.

Looks like the James Cordon look alike has certainly blinked first this time!

Robinson , the younger version of Woy Hodgson.

UTB

We definitely need another centre back (at least 1). If you look at the squad as it stands today we have

1 senior GK, plus 1 youth GK
2 senior FB plus 1 youth FB (Kelly) and 2 on the transfer list
2 senior CB
6 senior midfielders inc. Reed & Whiteman plus 1 youth player (Brooks) and 3 transfer listed
5 senior forwards inc. DCL

Despite the lack of a target man, another wide midfielder and a spare GK, it's still defence where we need numbers in

I foresee the most undisclosed of undisclosed fees emerging in the coming weeks...

Got to be honest, I don't like the way that anybody's gone about this one. Kyle himself should have behaved a bit better towards his manager and club, you hand your transfer request in, you cite personal reasons (family, move back to Sheffield, more money etc) and you have an adult conversation man to man - Robinson then names a price and a negotiation takes place privately. Instead it sounds like he hasn't spoken to him, or turned in for training, while publicly flirting with us on social media. Wilder has also very publicly courted him at most opportunities whilst the lad's still under contract, which I think lacks a bit of class (tin hat time). Roles reversed lads I'm sure we'd all be spitting feathers.

Regardless, I hope we do manage to pull it off, he'd make a big difference to our promotion hopes and MK clearly know that. I suspect it can't go through til we've shifted at least one of DCL/Che

We've done exactly what other clubs would do to us. That's how the game is played these days and to pretend we're somehow above all this is a bit naive. If we sign him I won't care at all about upsetting MKD. It's a competition and I want us to win it.

Robinson didnt help matters saying he wouldnt sell to a L1 rival meaning us

McDonald similar - albeit a release clause - but who told Wolves about the release clause?
Not by osmosis or Brownian motion (and that's not a train ride or a beer belly chunder from our own forum brownie)

What I heard is that we signed him on a one year contract. When we didn't go up, he was offered a longer contract for less money so he insisted on a release clause. I'm guessing we assumed that as no championship club had come in for him and no league 1 club were likely to match what we were paying him, we'd be OK. Then Wolves got relegated.

Time for CW to say there's no more interest if he's settled for his B choices.

This has taken on the mood of a Hammond / Dan Burne thread

I think Mcfadzean would feel hard done by if we stopped our interest at this stage. It may well be that MK DONS

Continuation of thread I pressed wrong button.
Don't relent on price and we either walk away or pay it,I don't think we're at that stage yet.my opinion is we will get him in the end.

If we don't get McFadzean I think it'll be Kevin Long instead.

Don`t think he will have gone on strike to push through a move to Burton!

Only one place `our` Kyle will end up, BDTBL ;)
