A dying breed??
The way I see it Steve, if I'm gonna pay the money I'm paying to go and watch United I'm gonna get behind them and try and enjoy it as much as I can, no point travelling all over the country to moan!
if it makes you so angry/sad why bother??
Being angry and sad is one of the main factors that make up being a blade
Always has been, always will be.
Without times like the present (and the far far worse we've seen).. the good times would all be a bit boring imo.
40+ years of going to the lane, this still ranks in the good times.
Being a Blade for me isn't a fair weather, only when we're good thing. It's not just about beating Wendy 3-1, or Alan Kelly's penalty shoot out save. It's not about the optimistic walk up Wembley Way, or semi-finals at Old Trafford.
It's not just about TC blowing kisses, and three sides to the ground bonhomie. It's not just about a Jags twenty yard belter, or a Browny screamer. It's not just sunny days away at Leicester, and shirts off on Boxing Day in Coventry. It's not just about stripping Dave Bassett, and singing the Greasy Chip Butty song when Ooh-Ahh Bob Bookah came back last season.
It's also about a Don Givens penalty miss, and Fatty Unsworth scoring one. It's about Terry Curran, and a late goal from Crystal Palace. It's also about Graham Poll, and Rob "the Nob" Styles. It's also about tears for relegation, and standing in the rain at Mansfield.
It's also about Dane's injury, and selling Jan-Aage and Deano. And it's about the heartache of a Chris Waddle goal, and a Peschisolido miss and a Seaman save. It's about results going cruelly against you, and for the others.
And it's about rising above all the crap, and still having the pride and passion in the crowd when all seems gone on the pitch. It's about making more noise than the home team, even when two-nil down and with no chance of scoring.
It's about being a Blade.

Silverfox said:P.S. That Seaman save was pretty special.

I could have made that save with me eyes shut.
