My mate got tickets randomly in the ballot and asked me to go over for a couple of games ,could be anyone he said ,so off I go on Tuesday for 5 days. The 2 games I have tickets for are Russia v Slovakia and Germany v Poland ,great.
Don't know if hes winding me up but he says we are in the Russian end.
Reckon I can knock up a Lokomotive Moscow ultra shirt, learn Russian and get some MMA gloves in 3 days ?
I will send reports from my Lille hospital bed on Thursday

All what is entirety clear is that the Russian mob looked like a highly trained, muscled up bunch of cage fighters carrying knives, who had gone there for one reason only. They took flares into the ground and set them off despite the terrorism threat and it appears they got away with it that and the violence.

My point is that if that's happening in France what will it be like in Russia? I for one won't be going to find out and I hope the Irish and everyone else have a great time over there.

I assume flares are banned from the stadium and as such the French police should be looking for anything remotely like a flare, or even worse. In the current state of terrorist fear it's very worrying that at least two 'flares' got into the ground.

Apparently the firecracker was the signal for the ultras to charge through the stewards so not only are the searches shit ,the intelligence is crap too. The French security forces are coming out of this very badly to be honest.

He's normally got a reasonable argument to go with it even if you don't agree with his standpoint and he is prepared to debate it. Poor old England fans always the sinned against never the sinner. I spend half my life in France and I've never yet been "indiscriminately whacked" with a stick by a police officer. Those England fans must have been very unlucky

Funny that because I've spent my whole life in England and have never been involved in any violence whatsoever yet have been "indiscriminately whacked" on 2 occasions at football matches in this country.
Let's get some things straight. There is good and bad on ALL sides and that includes the locals and the police. The police have to show there authority and, just like here will occasionally go over the top in doing so. Just like the idiotic neanderthal few that claim to follow England/ Russia/Marseille.
Our biggest downfall is the reputation we have created in the past makes it easier to tarnish us than anyone else.

They did know , but a big factor - they were playing England .

Also some of these Russian ultras run the fucking country . The Russian authorities are powerless and will not have communicated with the right wing French .

I think the lengthy interview with the middle aged chairman of the England supporters club [guy with the NE accent] on R5 carries more weight that your statement above.

He also says that the senior UK copper in charge of monitoring the English fans [named him so R5 can check it out] agrees with what he is stating as truth.

Not one incident has been instigated by England fans.

Those guys are on the ground, in situ and would I suggest know more than you.
