Blimey looking at his managerial record, the only consistent is an uncanny ability to be so shit as to get the sack.

Adrian Heath would make a good number two

its funny how people who have worked with José Mourinho are now picking up jobs based on his reputation.

Its certainly happened for years in Architecture and therefore I'm sure has in every field of employment. Crap architects worked for a famous one for a bit so a new company thinks....we don't even have to work out if he's good enough, he must be otherwise Norman Foster/Richard Rogers/Zaha Hadid wouldn't have given him a job in the first place.

All of which 'logic' is actuarially complete crap, its why people who are shit at their jobs rise to the top, because their colleagues, noticing that they are absolutely shit think that they themselves must just not be bright enough to realise that they're brilliant and so pander to them and promote them,

cf. the Peter Principle.....its why nothing works properly.

"actuarially" had to Google that, wasn't even sure it was a real word :)

Adrian Heath was a steaming pile of number two.

Joking aside Adrian Heath was a good number two, it's when he tried to get into management it all went Pete for him. Not unlike Alan Knill who appears to have realised this in himself.

Yes, but a good steaming pile of a number two as Tyler eloquently states ;-)

Didn't we have a manager who came to Bramall Lane as a one time assistant to a manager who'd actually done quite well, only to be reveal he himself was a giant skipful of fresh-from-the-oven shit, sending this club down to the bottom of division one and hoardes of deluded, happy-clapper, 'yay ... we got David Wier!' (there, I've given it away now, haven't I?) fans scurrying for cover?

That said, his mentor back at Everton went on to manage one of the richest teams in Europe with a wealth of legacy talent and turned them into a shower of flaccid penises.

Plus ca change.

I thought we had two of those.

I don't always necessarily agree with your opinions but I do so enjoy reading your colourful vocabulary, so have a like.

One of the players to coincidentally also appear in the infamous Port Vale home game that sealed Heath's fate.

Jose , Carlos and Bruno . Take your pick of the Portuguese invasion . They need a straight talking bloke who knows the score and league to survive .

Port Vale relegated to League 2 . Exotic manager at our level spells disaster IMO .

Thank fuck we didn't get Sabella , Wilder is exotic enough .

People said the same about the championship until Watford got promoted.

If Ribeiro does a good job posters will be saying 'why wasn't he even in the running to replace Adkins?'

PORT VALE 'TO APPOINT RIBEIRO'

Sky sources understand that Bruno Ribeiro is poised to becomePort Vale's new manager.

The League One club have been looking for a boss following the departure of Rob Page, who took over at newly promoted Northampton in May.

Ribeiro knows English football well, having played for both Leeds and Sheffield United as a midfielder between 1997 and 2001.

The Portuguese coach is a close friend of Jose Mourinho who has recommended him for management jobs in England in the past.

Anybody remember this lass?
