Few more bits.....

Says going away for 4 days on a training camp in between friendlies - did not say where they were going.

Wants 24/25 players with a few versatile players/young ones as part of that - impressed with a few young uns but says some will be going to conference and need toughening up in mans football. Wants a fairly tight knit group.

Nothing in the Tafaozili link. Says agents throw players out there. Seems to suggest he is not a player he is interested in. Did not seem to be playing his cards close to his chest. Just seemed to dismiss it.

Linked with so many players but wont say anything till they are over the line.

Asked if any of transfer listed players have a chance to work way back in - says in an ideal world they would move on but if not they are contracted and the door is never shut. He says really they need to go and play somewhere else and wont be part of long term future - suggestion is we wont see any/many of them for SUFC again - he seemed quite steadfast on that

Left footed central midfield player needed - likes balance but admitted defence is priority at moment

Wants three centre backs in as he says he had not got any (Basham can play there - likes young Semple in the u21s but says he is 6 months off). CW says Basham is a central midfield player - says he is not someone who is going to kill you with passing but he has good energy and can get around. He wants a midfielder to be competent in all areas. Likes Whiteman and says he was impressed in the u21 final. He says Basham had a decent season but sees him first and foremost as a central midfielder but can do a job elsewhere

Discussed McNulty and says he is a goalscorer - told him if he wants a guaranteed place then he needs to move on but says he wants him to fight for his place. Says he is a good age and his types are priceless.

Duffy a player that has really impressed him. Says he is a player he has always liked. Can do job both ways but can create and score.

Wants a squad of around 24/25

No guarantees for McNulty but was impressed with him last year and wants to have a good look at him and hopefully can be a part of going forward.

Mark Duffy has impressed him and was a standout player last year.

Brayford and Hussey best fullbacks in division.

Brayford is a big player and should be playing at a higher level.

Wants to get Brayford back to his level while on loan.

Good players can drive a game from full back.

Didn't rule out Alex Baptiste.

Need to be compact and defend properly.

Need to be competent with and without the ball.

Getting players in for pre season a few days early.

Got a 'competitive' budget and can attract good players.

Got harmony at boardroom level.

Wilder is totally different in approach to Adkins. He is not going to muck about. It has helped him having so many out of contract but still had decisiveness to list 7 players. His actions in 2-3 weeks have been more decisive than Adkins in nearly 12 months. Time will tell if such swift action sees an upward curve in results/performances.

Pretty easy to be decisive when a lot of the squad are out of contract. Adkins did a fair job at offloading a lot players last season even if they did end up going out on loan.

Just because he has stuck a couple of extra players on the transfer list doesn't mean they will leave any quicker.

Says Brayford is a player that has had a dip but says he is a fantastic player and says in his opinion we have the best two full backs in the division (with Hussey). Says Brayford is a big player for us moving forward. Will be fit for pre season.

Players will be back on the 23rd June - 4 days earlier than planned (will be one of earliest clubs back training). Says he wants them in early and to have a proper look.

Says he had identified numerous players - Baptiste not one that seems to be on the radar - might be out of range from CW comments - but again says he wants 3 centre backs and indicates this is a priority

Talked of everything in his favour - talked about a competitive budget, best facilities in the division, relationship between board/directors was positive - says he had heard whispers about boardroom and some split but says he has been really surprised about how together they were - says there is harmony. For him the biggest thing is the supporters. Says there is not a curse hanging over the place. Says togetherness and hard work biggest factors moving forward.

Saying he 'likes balance' suggests to me that he'll be after a left footed centre half, but not Tafazolli by the sounds of it.

As I said, Aaron Pierre seems a likely target.

Spoke over the crowd and how he walked round the ground and kept thinking of not 20,000 booing but the noise and positive support if it gets on the right track moving forward.

Says there will be bumps and he will make mistakes but alluded to getting the place rocking again.

Wants everyone pulling in the right direction. Says will have bad days but to keep behind them. All after same goal. Been in division too long. Says supporters want 100% and honesty and a work ethic (sound liked Adkins!). Says he will not ask them to run around and put bodies on the line - says that is a given from his teams. Wants to excite fans and get them off his feet but that at times team will need fans too.

No curse at BDTBL. We need to be together as there's nothing stopping us doing it.

Plenty of bumps on the road and criticism but that's what happens. The plus points are when we get it rocking and in the right direction.

Staton says he suspects we'll get what we want in the next few days on the pitch.

There will be total honesty with how he manages and he speaks the language of the punters.

Wants to get the Lane rocking.

Nothing stopping us from achieving.

There will be bumps and times when we walk out of the ground not very happy.

Refers to honesty and 100% from the players.

He expects players to run around and put themselves on the line.

There's going to be some good days here.

Players have got to get the supporters off their feet.

Midfield players – expects them to be able to do everything. Hates people describing 'defensive midfielders'. Clearly a deliberate tactic to pander to Pinchy

Has he said that? Might change a few views on here??. Hope so...

By Pele, Tufty is really beginning to impress me. I think I owe him an apology for not welcoming him earlier (not that he has the slightest concern or even idea about that!). Welcome Chris. You've made a great impression. Let's take this to the pitch in August and onwards...:)

As I said, Aaron Pierre seems a likely target.

Probable, as may Rod McDonald of Northampton

Jump on the bladeacoaster and show endeavour because pressure make diamonds. Just think of all the unseen work.
As I have alluded to and highlighted before, it's all about the arena.

If those hard working professionals can get it right in the arena then we can move forwards united together.

After all, we all share that common goal, don't we?

#Adkins-isms #BeatThat

Adkins spoke well in his interviews last summer. Honestly sounded a breath of fresh air compared to the dour Clough. He said all the right things and I think most fans were impressed by his positivity and freshness. Sadly 12 months later the same interviews had zero substance to them after a disastrous season.

Wilder has been impressive in his interviews but as others have said we will wait till August before we can start assessing properly.

Interview will be up later today apparently on BBC Radio Sheffield website.

A zero bullshit interview.

Eeza Blade and Eeza Blade!

All Wilder has been saying is what the fans have known and being saying for the last 3 seasons . In itself that is a big plus and bonus . It shows that the majority of Blades know there football , what's right and wrong . It ain't rocket science but needs a manager with common sense and to implement what has been glaringly obvious both on and off the pitch. Him knowing the club has helped . Connections do sometimes count , as in this instance .

There is no way that Wilder is a spokesman or flag waver for the fans opinions , but it is refreshing he knows what's required and not dilly dallying in sorting it out.

Good on yer Chris Wilder for implementing what's required as first things first , to get this club out of league 1.

You've got to stick it in one end and keep it out he other.

And don't forget they aren't just hard working professionals, they are honest hardworking professionals.

We've got some great coaches here and put a lot of hard work in training so we've got to transfer that into the arena.

We've got to get everybody #unitedtogether and pulling in the right direction.

Few snippets so far:

Said he has loved it so far and thankful for all comments. Says he has met the Prince. Says impression he has of the Prince and McCabe (and his sons) are together. Said he was not sure from bits he had seen/heard but he has met them both together and was very impressed

Understands pressures and what it comes with from his SUFC connections but proud of his work in football but says he know the club inside and out and knew most of staff

Says he likes forward players we have. Mentioned Done, Adams, Sharp (best striker in the division he says), McNulty, Scougall (not sure why he mentioned him as a forward) but says one thing they are missing is a physical presence and someone they can hit if a defence goes deep....says he is moving ahead with such a player and has spoken to two players

Says Adams can play down middle sometimes and then wide left or right. A lot of work to be done with him but feels he can be taken to next level but needs to work hard

Says previous managed wanted to list Scougall and McNulty but he wants a look at them

Given Long till after the weekend - spoke to him yesterday. Contract offer there. Says he is speaking to parents/family. Inference is that CW is already looking elsewhere but says he wants to keep him. I am guessing Long may be leaving from Wilder's comments today as discussed money/contracts etc. Could be wrong. Wilder says he had a back up plan if he goes

Asked about Northampton players and any he may take. Says will look and identify players and knows a couple from them having worked with them but says he is looking at a load of players and a lot of work ongoing

Says he needs to change his number as he has been bombarded with calls from agents/clubs since he became SUFC manager

In process of appointing a chief scout to help him

Surprised at Hammond contract - heavily weighted in players favour - says he wants situation resolved sooner and looking at potential resolution and it could be that he is either paid up or loaned out for the remainder of his contract. He says his style does not suit way CW wants to play. Says he wants players to press and go and be high up the field. Praised Hammond for his career but says he is not his style of player.

Wants to play in a way that gets supporters off the feet and alluded to positive, forward thinking and winning football. Talked about both boxes but also how he wants to press teams and go after teams. Kept saying going after teams and getting them under pressure.

Thank you for taking the trouble to compile that.

I very much like what I'm hearing about the need for a physical striker and the peremptory dismissal of the 'defensive midfielder'. Funnily enough, two things I've argued consistently. Nice to know that our splendid new manager agrees with me rather more than most on here...

Bergen Blade, Bergen Blade, are you listening...your tactical theories took a hell of a beating...:)

Believe it or not, there's more!

- Satdi Tuesdi, Satdi Tuesdi
- It's a long, hard grind
- Working hard behind the scenes
- If we can get everybody pulling in the same direction
- I've "gone and done that"

What a plonker he was.

Can't tell McNulty or Long they're guaranteed a shirt.

Without trying to come across all "Strappy Stephenson" it would suggest a new keeper is coming in.

Now still we've missed a few more.

  • We've got to be mentally prepared.
  • From his Twitter there was bullshit like "thoughtful Thursday" and other such nonsense.
  • Getting things over the line.
  • A pathway for the youth.
And who could forget the wisdom of geese shit.

What's the biggest room in your house?

The thing with Adkins is that he talked all that shit to the players too.

What a genius.
