I'd love Tafazoli, and I think, like Morsy in terms of it being a no brainer signing, and I'd be really disappointing to see him sign for someone else when he is they type, and age we should be signing.

Pretty much on the doorstep, too. No need to move (although if he's living in the Mansfield area, he may wish to anyway).

Anyone else notice the stags fans singing the bouncing song just as RT scores the first v Exeter?

Not sure who I'm more embarrassed for. Mansfield fans for adopting such an embarrassing "chant" or pig fans when they realise they're precious little ditty that they spent so long coming up with has been stolen.

Who would they even be chanting it about anyway? Chesterfield?

Is he definitely left footed? If so then that makes him considerably more appealing, it's a good bonus to have a left footed centre half. He seems to be a ball player too which is also a bonus. Certainly seems good enough with his feet with some of the goals in that video.

Two other left footed centre halves we could go for are Aaron Pierre and Rod McDonald.

I'd really like us to sign someone like this. They're all of the right age and profile and being left footed is a big plus.

Well Wilder will have seen plenty of him and Pierre, I'd go for the latter, did two team of the year, regular in wycombe team the last 2 seasons and a monster

Thank fuck we've NOT got this looney in charge...

"Ex-Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson, now at League Two rivals Doncaster Rovers, was reported to have been looking at Tafazolli in the final game of last season, but instead swooped this week for Stags winger Matty Blair...."

Looks at buying a CH but instead buys a winger.

Cloughesque? Well, he would.

Hopefully we will be in for him.

We need to make sure we get the best talent that l1 and 2 has to offer.

Wasn't it said somewhere he wants to move further south nearer his hometown?

Still, get's a bit depressing season after season when we see what looks like promising young up and coming players ending up anywhere except here (Adams excepted)

Hope Wilder has a few aces up his sleeve and let's hope we can get off to a good start for a change

I hope Peterborough do get him. Then I can sit back and piss myself laughing reading and watching all the dummies been spat out on here over a player Wilder never wanted and was only scouted by people on forums.

Wilder tried to get him at Northampton I believe. If that's true, there's a good chance he'd also want to bring him here

If there's no Championship interest, then that suggests he does have weaknesses. Maybe he's not the best defender. But as Barney says, we can't be sitting back watching player after player strengthen our rivals. Especially when they're cheap. If we're on about getting the best players from L1 and L2 then we simply can't be missing opportunities to sign some of them on free transfers. We won't be able to afford many of the decent contracted ones.

Would have thought, of all the Division Four defenders mentioned, he's the most likely.

Be a great boost to have a young player from the lower leagues coming in who we've competed for & won over. Would get Wilder off to a flyer.

How do you know we have dawdled? We might have made him an offer.

Doesn't fit the Blades bill to assume anything but the worst. Fans scout player, player goes elsewhere, player is the best ever. Who was that hungry french bloke?

Some will be misses and go on to better things, others will be Harrison McGahey. Same at any club, we don't own exclusive rights to missing out on good signings or making bad ones.

Absolutely and if it's got nowt to do with location, location, location, then it could possibly be down to the attractiveness of the contract on the table

I would like to think we are competitive, but I suppose there's a chance we're not. How much money do Posh have? I know they keep picking up bargains and selling them on for big profits

Has anyone actually seen him play? It seems we have a lot of experts on Mansfield town!

CW has played against him twice this season and I'm sure seen him numerous times before hand. If he wants to go in for him he will.

The question of are we dawdling is ridiculous as we have no idea. I cannot imagine that CW and AK are just sat in there office going we really want this player but you know what let's wait 2 weeks.... Think about it

CW tried to take him to Northampton, but didn't get him. So fair to assume he's interested

Seems a bit ominous that article! I hope we do sign him from what I know of him, he seems decent, but if we miss out then its not panic stations, plenty of decent defenders that are sign-able. I'd not be against Edgar returning either, but guess that's not happening. John Egan from Gillingham has been mentioned on here and he'd be decent and only a tribunal fee to pay which will be lower than the Gills value him.

This kid fits the profile of players we should be after: young, cheap, highly rated and in a position we need. In a year or two he could be a big financial asset. Its up to Wilder to decide whether he has the potential - not just the profile. These type of players would normally require a decent fee so it's not advisable to miss out on the bosmans. Its a similar scenario with Egan...

If CW was indeed after him last year you have to think why didn't he want to finish the deal of with NTFC? (Which is pure speculation).

People need to relax we may or may not be in for him but CW and AK have seen plenty of him to decide if he's good enough for the step up or not.

Nobody is challenging this statement so no need to repeat.

I'm sure Wilder knows whether he wants to try and sign him or not.

That doesn't change the fact that many believe that this is a player we ought to be going for.
