We haven't had many of those in the managerial hot seat have we.......

He's managed 5 clubs.......
Almost totalling 15 years in management.....
He's managed way over 700 games.....
He has an average win percentage of 42.7%
Multiple lower league promotions on his CV........

Never once has he been sacked in his managerial career!
The only reason Chris Wilder has ever moved on is the further his own career as a gaffer!

The perfect managerial apprenticeship really.

Good point. Here's a man who's earned his stripes, and the hard way.

But they were new to the job. To have been in the game so long and never been sacked is a real achievement and a measure of the job he's done wherever he's been.

The OP stated that we had not had many in the managerial hot seat I was just pointing out that we have had three fairly recently wether they be be new to the job or not

I also pointed out a string managerial career spanning nearly 15 years, with 700+ managerial games and a decent track record like....

I remember him managing Bradway in the Meadowhall Premier league, I played against them whilst playing for Holmesfield, we beat them 2-1 once so he's wank. ;) :D

Did Wilder and his family run the Bradway pub for a while?

Can we add this to our list of bad luck when we appoint a manager that has never been sacked and we end up sacking him?

I'm beginning to think that the appointment of a new manager and his future success is a bit random. There are many examples of managers with a good track record (eg Adkins) and a poor track record (eg Ranieri) that confound logic. I believe that the right players can play with shit tactical guidance and still bring out a win. So where does that leave us? You have to have the right players with the right attitude with a manager that acts more as a facilitator (buzz word) to bring out the best in the players with the ability to inspire (eg Colin). I think CW could be that man.

Ranieri, poor? Man's got an excellent record.

Did fuck up somewhat with Greece, though. :)[/QUO

Yes. You're right. I was comparing him to more famous premiership and cup winning managers, but that doesn't make him a poor manager.

He's never worked for kev though.

If he makes it past 12-18months we're on to a winner.

Must be that baseball bat he carries around with him everywhere, like a good luck charm ;)

There is a first time for everything.

He clearly has never worked for a chairman like Kevin.
