No need to mate ! It’s obvious us and Norwich are favourites for the drop at this stage. The players know they need to work hard. Harder than they ever have in their careers.

It’s when we’re 4th with 10 games to go and the ‘they’ll drop off’, ‘don’t know how they are up there’, ‘not good enough’ lot start that we need to pin that to the dressing room wall ;)

Pretty much the same every year with the odd exception

Of course the three coming up are going to be around the favourites to go down not a shock

This is what we're up against next season - self-styled 'experts' stating the bleeding obvious. 'Can 33-year-old Billy Sharp do it in the Premier League?'. Hmm. I wonder if he was saying 'I wonder if free transfer Timo Pukki can do it in the Championship' a year ago?

We'll have the usual condescending bullshit from the likes of Lineker, Murphy and Crooks - people who don't want us in their cosy little set up.

Fuck 'em all.

It's all typical football cliches.

The clubs that get promoted are always favourite to come down and the clubs that get relegated are always favourite to bounce back.

Last season on this very board there were the usual postings of 'Stoke, Swansea and West Brom will be there or thereabouts'.

This fallacy based on the wages clubs are paying their players is just boring and a lazy assessment of each club.

True. This article debunks that theory. The team I expect to 'bounce straight back' next season is Cardiff. If they keep Warnock.

Those of us who do not bet have no idea what that means.
What about the fantastic gamble that is Last Man Standing

Basically, we are favourites to get relegated and if you put £6 on you'll win £5 'if' it happens.

People are going to need thicker skins in the PL.

Not every pundit that doesn’t predict we are going to win the league hates us or is biased against us.

We are rightfully going to be one of the favourites to drop back down. That’s just the way it works - pundits don’t tend to think too far out of the box when making predictions

Completely agree. The idea that Lineker and co. don’t want us to upset a cosy status quo is real chip on both shoulders stuff. Don’t think they care who they are talking about so long as there is something to keep their profile high. Be just as happy if we do well, it’ll be “against the odds”.

Well if we're top after 3 games I hope nobody decides to start another war just to stop us.

edit: we hate Hitler and we hate Hitler, Lineker's a cunt too

Spot on mate.

Some of us meerkats take the simples approach.
Thanks and thanks.

I think people need to get a grip and enjoy the ride next season. As long as we have a 'proper go' at it (which we will) then don't get too down if it doesn't end well.

The Premier League looks far more competitive than ever. There's not that many teams just treading water as there were a few years ago and the botton three were all promoted over the last two seasons, which shows how tough it is to stay there.

Take the 3000/1 available for us to win the league and then lay out of it when we get off to a flyer.

There's only one problem with that...….we never get off to a flyer.
Mainly because of the boardroom fucking about in June, July and August and trying to find out how cheaply they can get away with it. After the three or first four games they realise they can't so we bring in players and start to improve

I honestly believe we will be a mid table side next season. Top 4 is impossible, but top 6 would be no surprise at all.

N.B. This is before Wilder spends any money, and the result of the court case is not known. :)
