No chance.
I think we could turn down much bigger clubs than Wigan who'd be in for him too.

Not a chance, Wigan are on the decline. Pretty sure him and his missus has just had a baby so hardly ideal up routing. I'm pretty sure he's in talks about extending his contract at the moment and supposably really happy at the lane.

Who's the shittest club who's poached one of our best players?
Got to be Barnsley with Fjortoft hasn't it?

"Wigan Athletic could be reinvesting some of the McManaman money before deadline day. The Pearce and Mckay deals are imminent but Jamie Murphy could also be on his way to the DW. A bid of £1m looks set to be launched sooner rather than later."

Just read this, thought??

where you read this from NB?

Now that would be just like United spend £1.5m on Brayford to get the fans onside before raking in twice that for Murphy just as the JTW closes. Seems strange we are no closer to bringing in that elusive striker ..............

And not like the fans to ignore the "source" of this story and paint the world black.

No chance . Mr Clough is not that daft surely.

Sorry, but without wishing to exaggerate, this would undo all the hard work in bringing the beard back. Has to be a complete non starter. A bid does not mean a move, check with Brighton. If a club doesn't want to sell, they don't have to. Wigan are tiny compared with us, and I predict here and now it won't be long until we're above them in the league.

Jeeeeeeezzzzzzzz if there is any truth in this it will be a punch in the gut for the fans. One step forward........

Only thing that gives it some credibility is RS said NC has confirmed we have 6 bids in for players. Who's the other Chezzy player apart from Doyle? Is he left wing?

Clough's interview today said they'd had no bids for anyone including Murphy. He said that's good as they don't want any bids and anyway no one is for sale (he'd already spoken about McGinn and Collins who are available).

I don't think Murphy will go anywhere for a while ,he isn't the most confident of guys and took a long time to settle at the lane ,we have plenty of fellow Scots to keep him company now. He would take ages to settle at any new club and would probably disappear to reappear back up in Scotland at some point.

Football season 2015 / 16.

SUFC Championship football

WiganAthletic League 1 football.

Its a freshening change but blades players seem to enjoy there football at BTBL.

Man Utd , Liverpool , Everton , of that ilk , then yes good luck to him.

Blades ain't a selling club , unless the player is at the end of his contract. Mr Clough and co are not daft.

Murphy is in fantastic , unstoppable form , lets savour it.

Rumours circulating that Brighton have stepped up there interest (backed up by comments from a Sun journalist - taken with pinch of salt of-course).

Really hope we resist, if this season is to be the season then we need him. We need to build on the positivity around the side at the moment and selling our player of the season would knock the stuffing out of it.

I just don't see the appeal of Brighton. A few years ago when they were a bit better then yes but they will be doing well to get in top half next year, surely can't be offering much more money than us? Also this is the most exciting season being a blade for a long time.

Adkins has already made it clear that Murphy remains with United. Beyond this season, who knows? But for now he stays to help us gain promotion. Probably the best bit of business Clough did getting JM to re-sign to us.
