Genuinely don't think the board or anyone involved actually wanted this, we can criticise all we like. The board aren't planning the demise of the club, they know what Wilder had done and what he means to the fans and how massively unpopular this will be, they want the club to succeed and get into the Premier League (even if only to line their pockets!)
Results, recruitment, comments in the media etc all ultimately made the position untenable for everyone.
I very much doubt its a straight sacking. Mutual consent or Wilder to have walked.
Time will tell if it was the right thing to do.
